DrakoPensulo: karateka (C64)
The game is VERY popular at its time, even if it is C64 version (1985).
The (original Apple ][) game is one of the first video games to use rotoscoped graphics.
I think I could win Kateka blindfolded. :P Well, up until the bird.

And if that princess can kill with one kick, how the fuck did she get captured to begin with!? She is better at fighting then you are. Shit, she should be rescuing you!

GOG forum ate this bigass post I wrote up about my childhood games, many I think somewhat obscure. :P Hamumu Software, eGames shareware, some stuff like that.
The Farmer's Daughter (for the Commodore 64 in 1983).

In future: (in Firefox) Alt key >> "History" menu >> "Recently Closed Windows" >> open whatever "Add new post"/Edit post" windows are there until you find the one containing your lost post. Assuming you hadn't written the post in Private Browsing mode, this should allow you to resurrect your lost post until and unless your browser session ends (because of closing Firefox, or it crashing) or you clear browser info.
I assume something similar is possible in most other browsers, too. :)
Spells of Gold. Loved that mix of RPG and economy. Great game, great memories.
The lost jungle Kingdom. This was a game written for the commodore 64 by me. It was a word adventure with some basic graphics like the zork word games. Unfortunately the disk it was on was destroyed as far as I know as I could never find it again. Basically I made a map first before writing the program as the blueprint for the coding of the game and you could do look, and walk, and basic word commands. You could also pick up and drop items at different locations, like keys and codes for doors. It was an exploration game, certain areas I had set up as potentially dangerous so if you wandered into that are to often a wild animal may kill you. You could venture to close to water and get attacked, I believe drown as well. I created death scenes like getting spiked in an iron maiden, I believe that was in the castle. Game consisted of a mountain and valley and several points of interests. If I ever find it, I'm going upload it online. Along with a couple other programs I wrote at the time including a powerball lottery simulator with basic graphics that saved your numbers and stats and payouts if you won. Also a simple graphics horse racing game you could bet on the horse to win and receive a payout if you were correct. I'm pretty sure they are gone thrown out by my parents when I was in my early twenties but if they are stuck in a closet somewhere and they ever show up i plan to release them.

Well I know others played it, but certainly EVERY comment on the game I seen people hated it. But I LOVED Dungeon Siege 3. I never played the 1st two, so maybe because I never had any expectations, I found it an really enjoyable Sunday game.

Same with Sacred 3, it was decent, but not as good.
I know I'm not the only one playing it, but I just lost The Game.

Actually I lose it every time I check the GOG forums, so this will be my final announcement.
I played recoil and asterix and obelix xxl2.
Anyway did anyone play magical battle arena nanoha with lyrical pack?
I did was a fun japanese only game, didn't understand what was written but managed to unlock everything getting the highest score on missions like s or something. Also shared the save file on the some forum so other people could play with everything unlocked.
There is a new version called magical battle arena: complete but i never played that one and i don't know if it supports new os.

Dave3d: I am pretty sure I am the only one who played, and LOVED, Recoil.

You play as a Tank, that can turn into a Boat, or a Hovercraft, with really really good combat and level design (for that era, and probably for this era also, lol).
The only bad thing about the game is its sound. Its too high pitched. But, that is the ONLY thing that isnt 100% about the game (after you get used to controlling the top of the tank and the bottom of it separately).

This game is the only reason I still have a Windows 98se system (since gog got all of my old favorites already).

kalirion: I even own the CD :)

Don't know that I loved it, but it was sure entertaining. Except the level I got stuck on because I had no idea where to go, that was annoying. Eventually looked up a youtube video of the level to find out what I was missing.

Played it on Win XP 7 years ago
So do I.
Thats why I still have windows 98se.
;)
Great to hear someone else enjoyed the game.
I played Rocky's Boots as a kid. A newer one that very few have played was Infinite Space for DS, though tried is more accurate because I couldn't even win the first battle (very steep learning curve, also annoying that it doesn't keep track of quests, so if you didn't take notes, you'd be completely lost if you leave it alone for months.)

You may want to try Robot Odyssey (Apple ][, 1984). :-P

Did anyone else here ever play Elasto Mania? I know I'm not the only one who played it, because we had a leaderboard going in my class when I studied computer science, and I know it still has a small but active community, but I've never really seen it referenced anywhere or heard anyone else talk about it, outside it's own specific community.

The game is a 2D side-view dirt bike trials game, but quite abstract and over the top. You navigate through the levels picking up red apples, and finish a level by hitting a daisy once all apples are collected. The objective is to finish each level in as short a time as possible. The bike is quite weak, the gravity is quite low, and the suspension is quite elastic (hence Elasto Mania). You can flip the bike from side to side (so you are going either left or right), and you can rotate it by shifting your weight forwards or backwards. All these things combined enables you to do some pretty sick stunts. Oh, and you can save replays to document your performance.
