micktiegs_8: Back when I was an avid supporter of Ubisoft.... Watch_Dogs. The ridiculous amount of hype surrounding that game sucked me in, and even when it was announced to be delayed a few weeks before November last year, I still gave it a go in May When I told myself repeatedly not to bother with it beforehand.

Should have listened to myself... What a waste of $100!!!

NoNewTaleToTell: Any particular reason why? My favorite genre is open world/sandbox games, especially GTA-esque games (like GTA/Saints Row series/Sleeping Dogs/The Getaway series/etc) and the only complaint I've really heard about Watch Dogs is that the graphics aren't as good as they were advertised to be. Granted I won't be picking it up anyway because of the Uplay requirement (it's a requirement even on Steam).

I'll echo other posters in saying Rise Of The Triad (2013). It's not particularly bad in any one way and it works fine on a mechanical level but it's easily the most uninteresting FPS I've ever played.
The writing is terrible like in almost all Ubisoft games.

JudasIscariot: Tek-War...yes, to this day I regret purchasing it :/
Oh come on, Corridor 7 was way worse. :P

Just look at the wonderfull games they made:

qwixter: Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth

Yea, they got me on that one. Never again firaxis/2k, never again.
Agree. On that point I'd add their reboot of X-COM. Whilst I did enjoy it I can't help but feel shafted by the need to purchase DLC to expand the limited customization options when they emphasize how you're suppose to grow attached to your troops. Also it's artificially 'gamey' in a number of ways i.e. force you to pick which mission even if you have resources to handle both/all, can't sell weapons you make etc. I know there's a few good mods to address this but it just makes me feel they aren't really innovating as much as I'd like in terms of gameplay.

Bouchart: Dungeon Siege 1. I found it so exceedingly dull that it took me nearly a decade to beat because I kept losing interest.

Fortunately I only paid about $7 for it.
Same here. That game has been renamed in my mind (infantile yes) as Dungeon Shit. I bought it full price, shortly after it came out, back in the day.

Good grief, "exceedingly dull" is accurate, but I'd like to add "inhumanly boring" and "without a shred of creativity".

Dungeon Shit 1 is without a doubt the worst and most boring game I have ever bought. It's one of those games that would give me visceral pleasure to use instead of clay pigeons in skeet shooting.

Fuck that game and that dipshit who created it.

Well, there are some mods made for that game that redeemed it no? I know there was a total conversion mod that made DS into Ultima V :)

Grand Theft Auto IV + Episodes from Liberty City |PC-Port| - Steam copy
Piece of junk refuses to activate and it has something to do with the SecuROM online activation and even if i could get that damn thing to work, then i would have to worry about the Rockstar Social Club and i would have to have a specific GWFL client to run the game. I wish i could get my money back, but i can't..

Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas |PC| - Steam copy
I bought this game back in 2011 and the most recent patch made the game unplayable and it refuses to run in 1080p and if that wasn't enough, Rockstar removed songs from the game and i wish i could get the copy i paid for.
Ogranic Panic : The first and the last early access game I ever bought.

Worst sounds effects and soundtrack in video game history; performance issues; and last but not least, a week after I bought it the devs launched a massive giveaway. Yeah, that hurt...
Banzai Pecan: The Last for the Young Century
I was willing to give this game and its developer the benefit of the doubt, but after playing this thing and the developer being an ego douche who can't take criticisim, I want to slander his this guy's name anywhere I can. I'm a big fan of beat 'em ups, tried "demoing" this game and thought "hey maybe this could be a guilty pleasure," but at the end of day after getting it from Indie Gala's bundle I feel guilty owning this.

It's a shallow button-masher with frame-rate hiccups, which is inexcusable when it looks like it came from a lousy Flash game on Newgrounds and the PC I'm running it on exceeds its minimum requirements, bad input response that contributes to fake difficulty, generic artstyle and character design (ironicly the unlockable concept art looks much more polished than the game itself), boring music (unless you like repeative techno music with no energy, rhytm, or sense of urgency, then be my guest), gets nothing right as a PC game made under Multimedia Fusion 2 (no video setting or resolution options, no fullscreen option, a v-sync option that doesn't do a thing, bad controller supoort, etc.)and a very cliché animu tride story with some bad writing on top of it. Normally I wouldn't harp on action games with lackluster storylines, but when you have a story that relies too much on pop-culture references to be funny or cool, you have a problem, and when I politely criticise the story to the developer, he tells me "Welcome to the 80's!" This is the kind of douchebaggy response I'd expect from terrible creepypasta writers, not struggling game developers. "Brotha"Kyo, you can go fuck yourself with a cactus.

If anyone wants a good 2D beat 'em up, please take my advice and avoid Banzai Pecan, instead hunt down Streets of Rage Remake v5 and the v5.1 patch, it's free and easy to find, a lot of fun, loaded with content, has good remixes of the series' legendary music, and has a lot more heart than Banzai Pecan could only dream of.
Only buy my games here or Desura

I regret buying Rogue Legacy. I suck at platform games but like RPGs. As you can guess, I havent got very far with Legacy, too hard for me.
My list is too damn big so I will only put a few here that come to mind. Dragon Age II, Sword of the Stars II, Ultima IX, X: Rebirth

Another day, another regret to share. Not that it happened, but that I've had time to think about it.

I can't believe I didn't previously comment on how much I regretted buying Sword of the Stars - The Pit. I loved SOTS1 (the space 4x game), and a friend said he was really liking The Pit, so I got it.

Ugh!

The game is horribly boring, and a terrible grindfest. And I especially regret having contributed to it since it's become a DLC nightmare.

Yes, the Lazarus total conversion was very good, but I still regret buying that "game", the developer deserves no credit for Lazarus. That was a happy coincidence that the game engine could be utilized for something worthwhile, but then again to use that mod one has to give money to the developer of Dungeon Turd - so I have very mixed feelings on it.

I couldn't recommend anyone buying DS even to play Lazarus, but for those unfortunate enough to have wasted their hard earned money on Dungeon Shit, it's a small consolation ;)
I'm going to get lynched for this but man, I hate the Jagged Alliance games. I got #1 and immediately made it known I couldn't stand it so of course people start telling me, "OH, that's because #1 sucks, you need to get #2!" So of course I get #2 and well, the rest is history, and by history I mean Charge of the Light Brigade, the Hindenberg, the Plague, The Great Depression, and the George W Bush Administration. :P

I think I am going to pretend that any game released by 2K never happened until a year or 2 later when the game of the year edition is released with all the milking DLC.

Hey now, the Hindenburg was not that bad.
