Lord_Kane: and before you say the UK, the king and queen are figure heads, they hold no political power, that belongs to the prime minister who is the actual head of government,
Sachys: for a start we dont have a king.
secondly, the queen is still the head of state and has the power to have governments formed in her name (among other things).
oh, and power actually resides with parliament and the house of lords for most things.
not a fan of the monarchy myself.
1. I know I was just being general, but I can never be right enough for you brits. :P
2. that I did NOT know, cool.
3. also did not know
I think monarchies are done and gone, they served their purposes for the times they were needed.
but they should be figurehead or ceremonial at best and hold no real power. Power belongs the people.
