On the contrary, the thread has been – if anything – seriously humping the shark this year.
The outrageous assertion that the underlying gimmick's creative use has seen better days is easy to refute. Over the summer there was an influx of smut poets new to the thread aside from on/off regulars posting, all often producing the particular flavor of clever and lightly crass wordplay we (and some Blues on top it seems) value. Dedication aplenty to the craft, and enthusiasm all around. I mean just look at what ssling did with the Nancy Drew series.
Then, we saw several interesting events recently:
(1) the discovery of replacement algorithms
(2) a brief exploration of a username to porn actor route
(3) the suprising inclusion of real porn titles into the GOG library
Also, ZFR gave an insight into how this glorious thread came to be.
In my opinion, the thread is on the rise overall. We are at post #1724 and still I'm seeing people excited to cum up with something hilarious that lands well language-wise, and who are happy to inspire each other in the process.
Also: Das Booty, nice.
