DoomSooth: Even in the case of Hitman: GOTY? You have access to a lot less if you play offline.
Didn't buy it, not interested.
It's gone now anyway because they did NOT follow GOGs guidelines that the game must be playable offline, it was a lot more than just cosmetics that wouldn't work when offline. I never claimed that there are no black sheep among GOGs games. But most of them fit the description of what I said above. If one calls that DRM free, fine by me. If not, also good.

It can be played offline. You just don't get access to everything.

So you can't play the whole single player content offline, right? Meh, I don't have it in my library anyway. I have my >2000 collection of fully offline playable games, that's good enough for me.
But really ... that discussion got old months ago, it's ancient history. We also havea dedicated thread for these kind of things, let's not derive this one any further.
Let's just say you are right whit whatever point you are trying to prove, I don't really care.

xerxes866: I just don't see the appeal of Gog. If Gog actually had DMR free games, yeah that would be great. But they don't.
What the heck are you talking about? There are a handful of titles that are not DRM-free on GOG and that's about it. We even have a thread here listing said titles and like I said, just a handful. So while it is true that not ALL games are DRM-free on GOG you can still say that ALMOST all games are DRM-free on GOG which is the appeal GOG is offering.

xerxes866: itch is ok, but they have a limited line up.
Actually, in terms of numbers alone, itch has several times more titles than Steam. They don't usually have the, shall we say, notable titles, but in terms of numbers alone I'm not sure any other place can compete.

*scratches head* What's your definition of DRM free (since that's what I assume you meant)? I mean, they're definitely not 100% DRM free for single player as they claim, there are a handful of DRMed (parts of) single player games, but to claim that they don't have DRM free games... Now I'm curious.
"There are a handful of titles that are not DRM-free on GOG and that'S about it"

Such as? Examples would be appreciated. Of course I'm not actively trying to start something here, just asking for clarity.
GOG made the right decision by removing that shit [Hitman 2016, that is]. Also, I tend to avoid what content creators on Youtube say cuz I don't like drama, but I'm open to any and all constructive criticisms if you disagree with my points and I'll happily engage back in conversation if both parties respect on another.

Thanks for the link mrkgnao, but what games are these supposed to be?

You asked for examples of games on GOG that are not completely DRM-free. This thread lists those games.

Read the opening post of that thread.
Sine when is this a(nother) "let's discuss DRM" topic?

Okay, I read the post, never heard of any of these games myself so I wouldn't buy them even if they had no DRM. Also, not trying to be rude, and apologies if I am being rude, but you coulda just told me for the sake of convenience instead of leaving it to me to search the info myself, which I only say for not just myself, but anyone new to this discussion as well. Still, to end this on a positive note, thank you again for your help. I genuinely appreciate it. I'll definitely NOT buy these particular games any time soon. At all, actually. One more thing, I'm new to this discussion, so I didn't know that or think of it either. Sorry about that.

Again, I'm new here, so I didn't know. Thank you for telling me, though.

You're welcome. It's always a pleasure to meet someone who has never heard of "The Witcher 3" or "Cyberpunk 2077". GOG really needs to make these games more visible.
