Mostly for preservation and "not dying", reasons...

Let's make a list, hopefully someone gets a wishlist...

1) C & C games. EA practically abandoned it to its fate, older titles either don't run in modern systems or are glitchy to the point of being unplayable. Gog can only save it by tweaking to run in modern systems. EA doesn't give half fart (not even one complete).

2) Diablo + Hellfire. Since this isn't available in B.net it SHOULD be bartered to appear here, on gog. Especially since Hellfire cannot be found ANYWHERE, unless second hand...

3) GTAs. 1 and 2 are no longer available either for download as classics, or to buy in Steam. And London expansions are no longer able to be found and bought.

4) Batman Arkham series. We could at least get the older ones, the gotys. This is considered to be both good old (it even gets a remaster, soon) and the best superhero game in modern gaming scenery.

5) Maybe more Elder Scrolls and Fallout titles?

6) Black and White 1 + 2. Now that Lionhead disbanded, it cries out to come here, in all due honesty!

7) Monkey Island 3 and 4. EEs are good and all, hell, they even contain the game in original mode, but Curse of monkey island is an iconic title, a cult classic too. Both gamers and collectors are sad to not find it anywhere for purchase, nowadays.

8) Titan Quest. Since Grim Dawn is already here, then why not? Latest rumor is that they are working on it to restore multiplayer even and word is, Runic is all chummy with us, here, now...

9) More classic oldies, especially BRADLEY games!!! Having more of those "primitive Deus Ex predecessors" wouldn't hurt, like that great badass Cybermage! Where are they, damn?

10) It must be my impression, but i think we miss quite a few classic Sierra games. We should in most probability get here quite a few more of them. How is it that talented devs who create masterpieces always disband and/or go bankrupt, while filthy slimey slugballs (like EA and Activision post fusion era) who don't care about either games or gamers, strike it rich effortlessly big time?

Please help expand the list and make it noisy! Preferably, games the likes of which, without gog's main dogma (of tweaking to run in modern systems), face threat of extinction!

Ah, the weekly wishlist thread.
I wonder how many of those the OP has pirated? :P
I would like it if Half-Life came here just because gog is sort of a compendium of the greatest PC games of all time and Half-Life is one of the greatest of all time.

seriously. years later. can you name a better boss battle?

While you're correct on EA not giving a fart and I would want to see the games on GOG, the community has done a great job fixing them. The only C&C game from the Ultimate Collection I wasn't able to play was Yuri's Revenge, all the others can be easily fixed with wrappers and community patches and whatnot. And I'm sure I could have also gotten Yuri's Revenge to run with some more googling.

Serious Sam: The First Encounter.

And now that you mention it... where the hell is Half-Life 2's boss battle?!

NOLF 1 and 2
Myst 3 and 4
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
Discworld

Until recently I would have also said System Shock and VtM:Bloodlines, but GOG already took care of that. =)

You cannot be serious....that overgrown fetus throwing fire balls at you was the worst part of the game.
I agree though it would be nice if Half-Life (and Opposing force!) came to Gog...but seems unlikely.
All of them.
Thanks to Bradley starting a thread I just saw his new avatar (normally hidden by the forum bug). Bravo brad, bravo. I guess those came two-for-one with a Ku-Klux-Klan logo avatar on the spreadhate.com?

Now you know why I've been screaming at him more than usual.

That fucking thing is sickening beyond words.

Between that and the assassination conspiracy theory stuff in the Brexit thread he really is outdoing himself this week.
I definitely think GOG should retain the "What game SHOULD be on GOG" themed games. Those are fun.

Along those lines, I also enjoy the "GOG doesn't release old games anymore!" and "This is why I'm leaving GOG" games.
My avatar change was actually a response to the OP's change.

(Of course, neither actually shows up right beside posts, though hovering over the old avatar will let you see the new one.)

Edit: By "right", I mean "left". Well, sort of... (Why do we have that word meaning two different things? I could argue that it creates a stigma against left-handed people.)

You called it for sure. I own the C&C "First 10 years" pack which includes 12 of the 17 games that are in the newer ultimate collection pack that goes on sale for around $5. I installed and played the original C&C and got up to a certain level to encounter a game breaking bug due to a general protection fault. In MSDOS the game would run fine because there is no memory protection, so the game is buggy there too but the OS does not trap the bug and the game runs ok. But in any version of Windows or Linux, this game will crash at that specific level with no way to proceed and it will do this 100% of the time for every player. So they are selling a game that has a mandatory game breaking bug and refuse to fix it, so the game is 100% unplayable unless the user hits Google to find workarounds.

There is a user made patch that fixes this bug and adds high resolution and widescreen support among other things, so it is possible to play this game without it crashing, but with no thanks to EA whatsoever. It seems unlikely these games would ever make it onto GOG, but if they ever did I can assure you that either GOG would apply the custom community patch to fix the bug, or myself and many others would fire flames up their ass to fix it or take it out of the store as it's a completely broken game otherwise. :)

I can't disagree with you there as I'd like to see that happen too, but I think Blizzard games are among the least likely games we'll ever see come to GOG because Blizzard has their own gaming platform and does not to my knowledge support any other gaming platforms. It'd be more likely to see their games land on Steam before they ever would come to GOG IMHO, but they're extremely unlikely to ever end up on Steam either. Blizzard is working on a remastered version of Diablo, Warcraft series and Starcraft 1 if I recall correctly though, so it is very possible that the games not currently available anywhere will be available from Blizzard in the future if they do in fact release remasters of them. Not sure if that will include Hellfire or not, I think that was made by Activision? Would have to hit up Google for that...

GTA1 and 2 are not available anywhere for purchase or for free as standalone games that I'm aware of either, however Rockstar's GTA Complete Pack which advertises GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA4 and its expansion packs on Steam - once bought and redeemed to one's account may actually also redeem GTA1 and 2 to the account. I say "may" rather than "does" because when I bought this pack it did not advertise GTA1&2, however they did get deposited in my account anyway for free. I have the free versions of both games that used to be available from Rockstar directly as a free download too but they stopped offering them a while back. Some people have claimed the GTA Complete Pack I mention does not include GTA1&2 and in the advertising on Steam they are correct. I don't know what anyone else will actually get if they buy that pack, but when I bought it - it very much did come with GTA1&2 even though there was no mention of them on the Steam page for the pack or anywhere else, so "your mileage may vary" applies here, but also "it worked for me". :) You're absolutely correct about the London expansion though to the best of my knowledge.

One more point worth note on the GTA Complete Pack, is that GTA4 comes with 4 different forms of DRM which is extremely fucking annoying and upsetting. I did not do my full homework before purchasing the pack unfortunately. It uses Steamworks CEG plus SecuROM, plus Games For Windows Live, plus Rockstar Social Club, all of which you must have mandatory accounts and/or register the game license key (securom). It's a huge pain in the ass to go through all that crap and requires GFWL and Rockstar Social actually are online and working when you want to play the game, which is like winning the lottery sometimes as both are unstable and unreliable in my experience. You'll curse, you'll swear, you'll want to set Rockstar on fire... but GTA4 ends up being a pretty amazing game if you can get it to run, and it also supports racing wheels. Having said that, I hate Rockstar for their stupid DRM.

The threat of extinction does suck, but for the most part GOG has been chasing all those publishers for pretty much all of the referenced games and then some for years all to no avail. The publishers own all the cards and GOG doesn't have much option than to keep harassing them from time to time unfortunately. It occasionally works, but very rarely it seems.

Out of your list, the most likely to show up here IMHO are Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and maybe even Skyrim eventually. There seems to be some unsubstantiated rumours to this effect floating around anyway for Oblivion. Fingers crossed either way! :)
If they ever fix the avatar bug and we have to look at the fucking thing, and GOG allows him to keep it, I'm going to change mine to a swastika and see if they have the balls to make me change mine. :P
