HunchBluntley: To be fair, the topic title is far from any proper English way of expressing the intended meaning; the current (colloquial) phrasing is one that works better in spoken English than written. I would guess that many relatively fluent second-language English readers who're not as familiar with spoken English could misconstrue it pretty easily (even leaving aside the possibility of simply misreading).

joppo: You're right.
I apologize for being a bit too harsh.. I will amend my post above.
No worries, I wasn't scolding you. :) Just pointing it out.
I was considering starting a string like this. Thanks for saving me the trouble. :)

arrua: There I go with the first one: Fictorum

The game looks interesting.
I like Fictorum a lot. A recent patch has made it even better. Check out some gameplay videos, if you're on the fence.

Just noticed the discount price. For that money, you can't go wrong unless you're extremely picky. I bought it back when it was $20 and got my money's worth. $2.49 is insane.

That's not accurate. That game goes on sale all the time. No way it's a "rarely goes on sale."

_Auster_: There was another thread for games that hardly go on sale, although that one often becomes abandoned and doesn't have the "is on sale" condition.
I didn´t know that thread existed. The purpose of this one is kind of different, so since this one is already created and there are users who have proven they are willing to provide info in both, I think they can coexist.

joppo: *sigh*
OP, maybe you should request that a moderator change the title to "Games that rarely go on sale and NOW are on sale."
I think the "now" should be emphasized to avoid being confused with the other thread in this theme.

Anyway, I don't have any games to add. Those I have been eyeing for that reason, like Blackwood Crossing and Undertale, are (to absolutely no one's surprise) NOT on sale once again.

I used to have a Magog search I prepared exactly with this focus, but alas Magog is retired and living out her days in peace elsewhere. If anyone has an alternative let me know please.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Hi. I was wondering if you could add a "and NOW are" to the title of the thread, before the second "on sale" words (Games that rarely go on sale, and NOW are on sale.

Please and thank you. :)

Thank you for giving me your opinion. Yes, I was a bit on the fence because there is a review in which the author was a bit disappointed due to a final boss being impossible to win against. Which usually means: Broken game. But if you finished and enjoyed it, and since the game was recently patched; I will pull the trigger. Although there is something else that worries me a bit: The minimum system requirements are very steep. Processor and RAM-wise no problem at all in my end, but graphic card-wise, ouch!

I don't remember the end being impossible. I'll try to make time to go back and check an early version unless you have a specific one you'd like me to try. The video requirement is probably high because of all of the spell and destruction effects. It can be a little chaotic. That's one of the things that makes the game so good. :)

The author of the review in the game´s page (here on GOG) that talks about certain final boss, make some worrisome claims.
Either way, the game is plesant and has something that push me to play untill.. you reach the final boss of first stage.
The game end there.

Essentially you enter an arena, with a single power creature or a number of magician, and your chance of surviving are minimal.
So far, so good.

The main problem is: you die, nearly immediatly, and you have to restart the game, from SCRATCH.
No, I'm sorry. I don't want to do that.
Let me retry the stage, but don't give me a game over like this.
After doing this tree times, I have to uninstall the game.
The graphic card´s minimum requirements are higher than the one´s of that brand new game, Chorus. :D

Don't have that option available, you'll have to PM someone from the GOG Staff (SmollestLight or sysia_GOG for example).

Indeed, just in 2022 it was discounted 7 times.

Songs of Conquest is on sale for the first time
Rimworld. I guess it goes on sale often enough, but it's only ever around the 10% we currently see.

Lone_Scout: Songs of Conquest is on sale for the first time
The game had its early-access release in May 10th, less than a month ago. Don't you think it's a little early to call it a game that "rarely goes on sale"?

I think people still didn't grasp what this thread is about. A few years ago, you would eventually see mentions of "Arx never-on-sale Fatalis" around the forum, written exactly like that, because AFAIR anyone that missed a sale on it would have to wait up to 3 years to see it discounted again.

I think that tracking games in that situation when they finally are on sale is a very smart idea. Posting about a recent release just because it's their first discount... well it just doesn't fit. Nobody was waiting a year for a recent release to get a discount.
I don't know if I'd say these are rarely on sale but https://www.gog.com/en/game/airships_conquer_the_skies and https://www.gog.com/en/game/visage haven't been on sale for around six months. Slightly before that, they were on sale a couple of times or so close together but that might have been for holidays.

Anyway, The Soundtrack Edition of Airships is almost $10US cheaper than buying the game and soundtrack separately, right now. I hope that's not a mistake.
Title changed. I hope now is more clear what the thread is about. :D

Thank you, sysia GOG.
