Anyone else having trouble with certain games like I am? I've played A LOT of games in my life, but 2 of them managed to make me few sick while playing for some reason: Batman Arkham Asylum and DROD 4. If I play more than 30 minutes of any of these games, my head starts to hurt and I get a little dizzy as well. I made it to the end of B:AA after a lot of struggling and headaches, but I don't feel like facing all that again because of another game.

I don't know what to do, I love DROD 4 (currently stopped at the Tuenan Armory) and bought the whole series here on GOG, but if I don't find a solution for this issue I won't ever touch the other games, sadly. Any recommendations?

For 3D games it could be something to do with Field of View. Many console ports tend to be rendered around 60 degrees, perfect if you're looking at a screen halfway across a room, but not so much when you're up close to the monitor and it takes up almost all your field of view.

I've had similar problems with Fear 2 and the Darksiders games. A possibility is to move further back from your monitor and see if that helps.

Don't know why you have the issue with DROD, as that's 2D and not something that should give you motion sickness. Maybe the puzzles are too tough on your poor brain? ;-) I know I've felt dizzy and slightly nauseous after longer plays of Tri, Pulse Shift and Spacechem, not because of the presentation, but simply because my head gets tired too quickly.

They don't make me dizzy per se but when I fly some sims I find myself invariably turning my head to weird angles. I'm not sure what it is in my brain that causes me to do this, but it's some sort of reflex to following around the camera LOL. Once in a while I'll start to "feel weird" for lack of a better term.

There was one arcade like one on Xbox (it might have been the Blazing... Angels? I'm not sure - I don't remember much about the game) that I had to quit quite early due to my constant uncomfortable head twisting and turning LOL. Tracking digital bandits is hard! ;)

Don't try to play Batman Arkham Asylum with 3D glasses. I played the GOTY edition on the 360, and believe me, you won't play it more than 10 minutes. :S

DrakeFox is right about Batman: Arkham Asylum. The default field of view is 45. Here's a solution:
