01kipper: FIST OF AWESOME. Although I enjoyed the graphics, music, and story (such as it is :D), the gameplay itself is just a repetitive button-masher (not my type of game) and I couldn't bring myself to finish it.
It's amusing for about 1.5 hours, then frustrating for the last half an hour. Worth it if you get it cheap, not really worth persevering unless you're a big fan of punching bears (I've just finished it, and it filled a bear punching hole I had today) I'd put forward Beyond Divinity as something that I've given up on at least for the time being. Divine Divinity was a great, if slightly hackneyed RPG with an ending that's a bit boring. Beyond Divinity has 'optional' sections that help you gain experience through fighting. Problem is, the grinding is necessary so that you don't die..
Titan Quest. Very pretty, but goes on forever with too much fighting and too little story.
Is it worth persevering with Magicka? After a while it looked too much like a fast button pressing exercise than anything else. It's possible my strategy just sucks..
I loved KOTOR, especially the fact the combat is turn based and that you can issue a series of commands then sit back and watch awesome light sabre battles from several angles.
