Let's give props to those games truly forgotten, or maybe reviled, by others, that we loved.
No "Oh, I'm the only who likes Assassin's Creed/Call of Duty/ etc.", c'mon, no games that routinely sell millions of copies; and don't name a popular old franchise like Commander Keen, or Duke Nukem, and pretend you're the only one who remembers it.
Dig deep here people. Tell us about that game everyone hates, or no one knows it exists, and tell us about how great it really is. Different opinions are fun, so let's share them.
My pick is True Crime: New York City. I wasn't a big fan of shooters at the time and this game, unlike most GTA clones, actually leaned a bit towards being a brawler, allowing you to learn different martial arts. You could be a good cop or a bad one, and plant evidence. It wasn't quite as crazy as GTA, but it tried to be. You had Christopher Walken as an eccentric FBI agent, and you had missions like storming a record label, going to the top floor (which just so happens to be a japanese garden), and having a swordfight with a rapper in a samurai armor. If I wasn't the kid I was when I played it I doubt I would have liked it as much as I did, still, I don't think I've ever seen a positive opinion about it. Hardly a masterpiece, but I do have a soft spot for it.
