Ah ha! Well then, this is definitely the game i love and no one else seems to.

I actually played it on the PS2 with my youngest brother and enjoyed the hell out of it. But I could never get past the lava and moving cage levels. Perhaps a bug. Dunno.

But years later I got it for PC and was able to finish it and then go right back and play it again to find more secrets. I never do that!

I love love love this game and have given it away at least twice on these forums. Sadly, even giving it away does not seem to have resulted in anyone loving it as much as I do.

The closest I've got is Dune2000. I remember being really surprised at it's horrid reviews back when released, at least for a Westwood strategy game. When I finally got to play it years later I really enjoyed it, just like I thought I would. The problem I think was that the RTS genre had outgrown the classic c&c style by then, especially with games like AoE, SC and Total Annihilation. Still Dune2000 is hella fun if know to only expect a slightly above average rts.

On that same note, I really enjoyed "The Lord of the Rings - War of the Ring". It did get quite favourable reviews at the time, but most people I've heard talking about the game considered it to be crap, especially after "Battle for Middle-earth" was released, which it was constantly compared to.

Objectively yes but unfortunately I suck at strategy so another aspect to make it more strategic wouldn't help me. The reason I liked upgrades is because I had this "FINALLY!!!"-reaction whenever I managed to find enough resources for it.

I liked Tales of Destiny II for the PSX. It's a pretty solid sequel if you can get past the weak English dubbing, but I never see anybody talk about it.

Max Payne 3. Not sure what the hell everyone else played but damn if it's not the most wicked slo-mo matrix shootout ever.

And then I hear people playing it on a console controller and didn't enjoy it, and I'm all like, -.-

Jee, maybe because your playing a radical twitch third person shooter with analog sticks...

Well, that’s not an unknown game by any stretch of the imagination, but Heroes of Might and Magic IV is my favourite opus in the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise.
Yes, I say it proudly, I like it *much* more than Heroes of Might and Magic III.

Grand Theft Auto 4. Only me and reviewers seem to like this game, a hell of a lot. Golden shinning 10/10's everywhere.

Fast Draw Showdown. I just loved the cheesiness of it, and you could tell the actors didn't take themselves seriously.

After the huge game San Andreas was and Saints Row being the first "then-gen" open city crime game, GTA 4 didn't really do much but be an upgraded GTA 3. I gave it half a chance, but it lacked the little things the first Saints Row had and felt like a step back from SA. I recently repurchased it, so I might give it another go.

I'm afraid in order to actually play it though and not think it sucks, you might need an xbox. I was slightly unhappy about having to play it on a console, but honestly probably worked out best.

Turned half the city into a warzone once blasting Simian Mobile Disco on the radio, crashed my xbox. It was awesome.

Then told Rockstar, you guys are awesome.

I bought it on disc but I still can't get through the DRM to make it start. :P

I absolutely loved emperor of the fading suns. Its an old grand strategy a mix of land air sea and space fields over multiple planets. Its Lore and depth were great. The only problem was that in its base form it was very buggy and doesn't work on modern os. I would love to see it come here but I doubt it will ever happen. It was the first game I really lost myself in planning strategies at all hours of the day.
