The oddest thing: doing an account refresh did not bring Fallout back to my shelf, but re-ordering by title, and then back to purchase date *did* bring it back. Weird!

moonshineshadow: That was one of the main reasons for me to get a gogwiki account. I synced my library there and can now easily compare it if something wents missing. Much faster than going to the old purchase records. And yeah these bugs are happening too often lately.
avatar
OldFatGuy: Is that fairly easy to do (syncing, I'm guessing getting the account is merely providing an email and getting a user name and password). And if so, do you have a link to the wiki?? Or is there a link here somewhere?
It is quite easy if you use the barefoot_essentials.
Here is the link to the gogwiki:
http://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page
But you can not create accounts there since there were some problems with spammers registering. you need to contact an admin to create an account for you. I contacted Barefoot_Monkey and he made an account for me quickly.
Yay, my Fallout 1 returned from the abyss! It worked after using the Refresh account link twice.

Okay, since I don't even know what barefoot_essentials even is, I don't think I'll bother an admin.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your help and kindness though.

No problem :D

And just for your information. Barefoot Essentials is a script to bring some features to the gog website. For example hiding already owned games in the catalogue, feature for quick replys in the forum, posting preview and some other stuff :-)

Still missing for me even after several refreshes. It's not really urgent so I'll wait a bit then contact support.
avatar
OldFatGuy: And since this is obviously now something that will occur here and there, I guess it's time for most folks to download and backup all of their games.

Man this site is going downhill instead of improving. What a shame.
i already do that anyway
all my gog games are on 14 blu rays

and the site is deteriorating too much man power and attention diverted to galaxy which is still in alpha
and not enough communication

its kind of pathetic that the community has to rise up to implement basic features in the site that should have been there from the start isnt it ?

Heh, well, now it's gone again, my total is back down to 536, and an empty slot appears on my shelf again.

*grumble..grumble..grumble*
My Fallout 1 is gone, as well. :/
Fallout 1 is missing here too, even after a refresh...
avatar
OldFatGuy: Thanks, that brought Fallout back, and it bumped my total back up to 537, but I could've sworn my total was 539. My memory is so flaky I can't swear to it, but I think I'm going to have to go back through all of old purchase records just to make sure.
That's why I actually write the number of games down whenever I buy a bunch of games. Nothing fancy, just a date and number (of games on GOG.com) on Notepad.

Yes, currently the number is one down from what it was before. And it is indeed Fallout that is missing. Do I dare to try refresh? Didn't some people report earlier it didn't sometimes work as expected (ie. it removed even more games), especially if you have several hundreds of games in the account?

This is definitely one part GOG needs to improve. In fact, priority one. To heck with forum search etc. until this is more robust.

That's a good idea!! and now that everyone mentions it, i just checked and my total keeps changing by one or two. so F1 is missing and one or two more games, im not even sure...

EDIT: Fallout 1 is back again but i could have sworn i had 1 more game in my total. which one is it, where did it go?? ahhhh!!!!

The weirdest thing is... it also only worked for me after using Refresh twice too.

Ok, that's actually what brought it back to me:

- re-order by title
- re-order by purchase date
- reload the page

Now Fallout came back, the the game counter went up by one to what it was before. I didn't do account refresh (didn't dare to, I still need info on those other reported bugs).

EDIT: What the heck? I changed back to list view mode (instead of shelf mode), and now the game disappeared again? Glitchyyyyyy... It seems I can see the game in some view modes, but not on others?

EDIT2: And now it is back also in list mode? Quick, download now now now... :) It is as if it disappears and reappears every few minutes or something.

Fallout is back. :) Thank you, GOG team!
