DebbieL: Recently: Vigilantes. Dev confirmed this but didn't give a specific reason, apart from 'GOG is very picky'.
Mmmm steam reviews are mostly good, though.

We released it on a few other stores (not GOG because they turned us down) and sold only a tiny fraction of that AND it's a pain to keep those versions updated AND it's a pain to actually get paid from those stores (Steam automatically pays us every month; the other places require us to submit official invoices whenever we want to get paid and you have to exceed a certain minimum which is hard to meet since sales are so low). It's just not worth all the extra effort to increase sales by such a tiny amount."

More and more it seems like the fault of some games not being released here is on gog. Other issues as well. :/

Drifting Lands

A mix between Hack'n Slash and a Shoot'em Up, dev said GOG refused them on their store. Which is a shame, it's a very good game, with good reviews. There is a demo on Steam.

"Sorry no GOG version. After a month of waiting, we've finally been refused on the store." From Krobill, on Steam forums.

Hello everybody.

My indie-game platformer Deep Ones, inspired by ZX Spectrum aesthetic, Bioshock underwater beauty and H.P. Lovecraft was rejected too, because "too niche".
Guys from GOG don't even play the game - just watch some screenshots and trailer, wich I send to him. Answer was like "look like a cool hardcore platformer, but no, too niche for GOG"

Yeah, too niche game. Wich looks like realy old platformer. For site called Good OLD Games. Why it's "niche"? Who knows.

I've tried re-submit after release on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Playstation Vita and XBOX One, but has no answer at all. lol

Have you checked the game or you automatically created this entry without any search ?

Many of these turndowns described here cause a lot of questions since games like Project Warlock started to show up on the storefront.

It's obviously unpolished (according to pretty high system requirements for project of this kind) and basically not much different from lots of similar pseudo-old-school FPS from Steam Greenlight / Steam Direct.

What makes it so special? Fancy namedropping in the description?

"We are evaluating GOG, but of course they'll have to approve the game, and it may take a while. We'll let you know if there are any news on it."

That comment was posted two years ago, and the game hasn't come to GOG, so it has most likely been rejected.
Out all game rejections, this is one of the biggest disappointments for me personally, as it's a hilarious time-travelling comedy, very much in the same genre as Day of the Tentacle.

Ghorpm:
It's a great single party tile-based dungeon crawl. Controls are very simple and almost everything can be done with a mouse.

Quest choices are not immediately clear/slightly morally ambiguous.
Combat is turn-based with a variety of spells and weapons (that have durability). The beginning of the game is tough because of resource management, but difficulty swaps toward the end.

There is one official expansion: Islands of Ice and Fire which ups the difficulty and has a nice little story.
There are also maybe 5 or 6 unofficial expansion modules that have finally been ported to PC. They are on the crazy hard side of things so I haven't been able to get much in to them.

My only complaint would be that some of the movement speed can be slow.

Thanks for this confirmation (you probably didn't do your game any favors by dropping this little bombshell here, but I sincerely appreciate the honesty)! Gog has refused quite a few games that look like shit but play great, while letting in shit games that look ok, so I was already suspecting them of making their decisions based purely on screenshots, promo blurb and maybe a youtube video.

Curated store, my ass! This is not curation, it's arbitrary bullshit.

Since this game is already released on almost every actual platform, I don't think that developer will be upset if it never shows up here. It's missed opportunity for GOG, not for developer.
Didn't GOG even refuse to sell Braid, World of Goo and Aquaria at some point due to the expected price?
