Tomb Raider 4 - Last Revelation

...and the last classic Tomb Raider to beat from my list "old games to beat before war/death/1984/other ends of the world").
Not as long as TR3 but surely gave me some tough times.
Some mechanics were not explained in the first tutorial level and you either watch someone playing it or trying everything on everything until it work or you gave up and either uninstall the game or watch someone playing that part.

But whatever, beat the game anyway.

Looger23: Deus Ex: Invisible War. Lots of wasted potential here.
I'd really like to have a look at it anyway, but I've given up getting it to run.
Hmm... I don't know if there are different versions and which you own, all I can say is that the gog version worked fine for me out of the box (Win10 64bit).
Illusion of Time (SNES)
Black Mirror (2003), May 19, (GOG)-I thought this was very good. The atmosphere and story were quite good until the last third or so when it started getting cliched and predictable. The voice acting and backgrounds were very good. The puzzles were good with only one major exception: the zodiac puzzle was unfair because I had no idea what the symbols were and I don't think there was anything in game to hint at that. Only a couple of complaints. There seemed to be a few times when you had to wander around doing nothing because you were waiting for one of the NPCs to do something for you. That got rather annoying because I was never sure if I was supposed to be doing something else first. Also the mechanic of left clicking on objects to interact with them except for a few rare occasions where right clicking on them was required. That was really annoying. Everything else I rather enjoyed.

muddysneakers: Black Mirror (2003)
When I played this in 2003 I kind of liked it, but when I played it again last year I found it pretty horrible in terms of gameplay. It has a nice atmosphere and still looks good. Nice music too. But today I would only recommend it playing to understand part 2+3, and to play with a walkthrough at hand. Played part 2 recently and it's a way better game in every regard. Have yet to play 3.
The Longest Journey - I'm not the greatest adventure game player, so I was proud that I was able to beat this game in less than a month with few hints. Definitely among the best in the genre.

Congratulations! Good, deep, atmospheric and challenging adventure. Hard to find games like that these days.

I thought it was pretty good. There were a couple times where I wanted to pick something up but couldn't until I actually needed. That was a little bothersome. The puzzles themselves were pretty good. I think I only got stuck one time in the morgue and in Robert's study.

Yes that's one thing that bothers me. And the annoying "waiting" mechanic.
Do you have the second game too? I do think you'll find it quite more enjoyable, because it manages to maintain the atmosphere, but the puzzles are IMO way better.

That's really a classic... I have very fond memories :-)
The box is right behind me in my shelf.

This is a very good way to describe the game.
Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason - Decent game. Runs like petrified goose turd though. Has a number of flaws beyond the poor optimization, but at the same time does enough things well or at least adequately that it mostly balances out in the end. A shame it will probably never be openly sold digitally again.

TheMonkofDestiny: Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason
If I may ask, what kind of game is it anyway? I only played a bit of the beginning long ago, but don't really have a clue. Is it a walking simulator? Adventure game? Survival horror? Can you compare it to other games?

First person horror. It has some shooter (and melee) combat in it, but it's the slow kind (a close comparison to the combat side would be Condemned: Criminal Origins).
