Table of Tales: The Crooked Crown (PSVR)

This game is an RPG with turn-based combat (which I love), but it’s also very story heavy (which I don’t).

There is a single narrator who is telling the story (taking the role of all the characters), and all the action takes place on a table in front of you with toy figures. It almost feels like you’re playing an actual/physical role-playing game! The graphics are quite crisp and nice.

The game can be completed in a few hours, but the choices you make while playing the game have greater or lesser consequences, so there is replay value. After finishing one game, I immediately started a new game to try some different choices.

Overall I quite enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Oct 14 (GOG)-As someone who is only a casual Star Wars fan I enjoyed this quite a bit. I never felt like the Star Wars universe got in the way of the game. It had been a while since I've really enjoyed a 40 hour RPG of this type. It reminded me quite a bit of Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 (no wonder) but with all the different planets you could travel to the world felt much larger.

The companions were really hit or miss unfortunately. I think they could have dropped a couple of companions and fleshed out the others a little better. The only ones I really liked were Mission, Bastila, and Juhani. The loot and equipment wasn't great either. I found myself using the same equipment I found midway through the game because I was too lazy to find the best stuff and none of the equipment names gave any indication which was best.

The combat was pretty easy. There were a couple of battes with Rancors and the like that I had to redo but 90% of the game wasn't a changelle. Then everything changed for the worse on the last level. The individual battles with Sith and Dark Jedi weren't difficult but the endless waves of enemies with poor companion AI and pathfinding made it very annoying. And the last two boss battles felt less like battles and more like wars of attrition where I pause to heal every second until my opponent is dead.

The mini games were all quite bad. Pazaak (did this inspire Gwent?) could have been more interesting. Other than the first story-required swoop race the rest were mostly frustrating and wastes of time. The ship gunner sections were too frequent and the aiming was terrible. All of these could have been cut or redesigned for a better experience.

Overall though I did enjoy this game quite a bit. Sometimes you need a really long game to get wrapped up in even if it has some flaws.

Aw... You mean not Jolee? He's rather the "centerpiece" there.

I found Jolee really annoying. Same with Carth and Canderous. Zaalbar and the little droid never spoke to me and the big droid was insane. Which only left Mission, Juhani, and Bastila.

Resident Evil 5 (XB1X)

I'll say this much about it, it's better than Resi 6. Not much better, but better. It runs really well too. But other than that it's a steaming pile of shite. This one proudly occupies the worst game I've played this year award, so far. How the series sunk during that era. People say that Resi 7 is back on form, I'd hope so.

Actually the first few levels tricked me into thinking it would be okay, not great but okay. But the longer it goes on the worse it gets. Boring level design, the most stupid special forces operatives in history. Just avoid unless you seriously want to play the entire series. If you want some survival horror then play any Dead Space game, or The Evil Within or even Resi Revelations 1 or 2. Play anything, just not Resi 5 or 6. Unless, of course, you love stupid long cutscenes with QTE's, playing as the worlds slowest morons and baby sitting an AI partner that mostly just gets in your way.

The silver lining is that I didn't buy it (or Resi 6 for that matter), I just used Game Pass. It leaves Game Pass at the end of the month, no great loss!

To me the insanity of HK is in character and part of his charm.

I recently finished Neverwinter Nights: Pirates of the Sword Coast. I had a good time with it, more than worth the $0,5 I paid. Fun dialogue that doesn't take itself too serious, pirates, lots of different skill checks with multiple ways to solve problems, good potential for roleplaying, interesting twists in the story and some fun puzzles and mechanic changes that keep it varied. Good length as well since it didn't overstay its welcome, I enjoyed this DLC/premium module all the way through and would easily recommend it, especially on sale.

That's just it.......I played mostly light side and still enjoyed it, and just chalked it(as the player) up to him(the droid) being evil or batsh*t insane as part of the world building/etc. I can get why you and others didn't like it much, though, and I respect that.

I also disliked how the wookie had so few lines/dialog when talking to them.....at least in the second game they added a bit more dialog for some companions.

Yes I found Zaalbar one of the worst because he would never talk to me. Even when I was saving his people he was excluded from the party so I rarely got to interact with him. And afterword he didn't really say anything either.

I recently finished This Is The Police 2. In my opinion, it's an amazing game and a vast improvement over the first game. I really liked the whole tactical side of the games, and it seemed like a missing feature of the first game. Great story, voice acting, and music.
I can't wait to play Rebel Cops and other games that Weappy Studio develops.

Yeah they added some good stuff in the second game, like new crafting/upgrading options, more companion dialogs(even the small droid), etc.

They did, however, limit or remove a few things(iirc) as well....like the companion crafting items thing was limited or cut(iirc).

Probably what I saw as the most important improvement in 2 was the companion influence mechanic. And they improved character development overall.

And if you knew what some companions liked you could manipulate it while staying true to your alignment as much as possible and still get their benefits/extra dialog.

Does 2 have the same companions?
