Freespace - Started this one before the end of the year, and just wrapped up the base game and expansion. The base game is excellent; the story does a good job of presenting the missions as "day in the life" with its mix of escorts, patrols, sneak attacks, and dogfighting. The enemy serves as a foreboding antagonist, if just in broad strokes, and the galactic political situation is also explored in an interesting fashion - with the former mortal enemies in the Terran and Vasudan forces forming an alliance.

The Silent Threat expansion was less impressive, due to some unfortunate scripting issues and odd jumps in story direction. The first few missions were fascinating - covering up some hostilities between the two sides of the alliance. As the story unfolded however, the missions become simple shoot everything that moves.

This was the first space combat game I've played (minus the BSG Freespace 2 mod several years ago), but it's a genre I look forward to exploring.
OK, this is now an annual cheat for my finished list. :)

Beat the boss in FTL on 1/1. With my preferred setup I usually win (on easy of course) about 80-85% of the time I'm guessing. Used to be a better percentage, not sure what happened... It took me two attempts on New Year's Day.

On the first run I wound up without enough weaponry and only a defense/beam drone setup. I couldn't get through the boss's shields to damage the drones on the 2nd drone-intensive battle and his defense drone wouldn't let my missiles through. Just wasn't packing enough via RNG. I did come close to tying my record for most crew hired, something I just happened to notice, not something I tried to do.

2nd run was a cakewalk.

I haven't explored every nook and cranny of FTL, but it's one of those games where I wound up with a preferred playstyle and it's totally relaxing and tons of fun to play, over and over again, with that style so I'm happy with my use of the game. I'll play dozens more times this year. But what the hell, it was on the list last year and shall be so again this year.

I bought FTL on GOG in December 2013.

xa_chan: So, I've finished LEGO: Pirates of the carribean
Where'd you get it?
I have Gamesplanet.de version and it was the most buggy LEGO game I have played by far. It was wonder we managed to finish it.

I completed my first game of 2016.
I chose to select game that would test my fairly recently purchased GPU and be really progressive with new Year so I played Wolfenstein 3D.

I bought it on GOG Bethesda promo and while I played it sometime in the 90s on school computers, I never got too far, so most of the game was new to me.

It is dated game for sure but I still had fun with it. For sure, there are only 3 guns, about 5 different enemies, only few wall and floor textures, it's very pixely and each enemy only has 2 lines but I still enjoyed it quite a lot.
It, of course, can't stand up to some newer games but it is still apparent it was good game and it wasn't chore to get through it at all which can sometimes happen to me with games.
I really liked the music but there is only limited amount of tracks to listen to.
I used ECWolf to make it less dated. I used it mainly to rebind controls and play it with standard WASD+mouse controls.
It took me about 7-8 hours to get through all 6 episodes.
Some maps were better than others and I disliked few (mostly those maze-like ones with the same texture and lot of dead ends) but overall I found the design to be quite nice and interesting considering the levels are flat with no vertical differentiation.

Yeah, why not, i think that the major changes from Dragonfall to HK was the hacking system (personally i prefer the simplified version of Dragonfall) and the interaction with the npc's (the best part of HK), other than that i was more interested in DF story and characters.
