I have noticed some of my games disappeared from my libray here on GoG. For me it was free games - Arena and Daggerfall, however, I had Arena installed at the time and was in the middle of gameplay. Now it's gone from my library, from my installed games and from all the history tracked in Gog Galaxy including ingame time tracker, cloud saves and all.

Although I did not lost any money on that and I can add the games back to my account, GoG lost it's trustworthiness entirely. If video game digital distribution service would remove any game from your library without warning or explanation, even the games you're actively playing at the time, I won't buy another single game from them before this will be explained.

If you have the same experience, please post it to this thread. Thank you.

I'd appreciate if any GoG representative could comment on this.

Really, Have you tried to reclaim the games and take a look if your HD installations are detected or if your saves and progress are lost?
Both Arena and Daggerfall disappeared from my collection today too!

Apparently they seem to be missing for many people since they recently got changed from "Free when buying another Bethesda game" to simply "Free".

Try going to the store pages and "re-buy" them for free:-

Steps to fix:
- uninstall galaxy
- download offline installers from webpage
- install game offline under your control, how you want and store those offline installers on backup drives for any future needs
- play game without any need for client or online, again completely at your control not under any command from some third party data capture software

This is exactly hat the whole point of GOG was until the S̶t̶e̶a̶m̶galaxy client turned up!

Is that still the case after adding the games back to your account? Someone mentioned after adding the games again, they retained the tags that were previously set up on the site. I don't know about the GOG Galaxy side of things.

Most people have had Arena and Daggerfall removed from their accounts. See for example
Two video games have disappeared from my GOG library
Arena and Daggerfall removed from account

I admire your optimism.
Both games stayed in my library after the new versions got released. I wonder what causes them to vanish from some people's libraries but not others'. Also, couldn't it have retained the saves but just removed the original versions from the UI? That sounds like a bad oversight if they were deleted entirely.
Just realized that TES Arena and Daggerfall are gone from my library. Luckily I have updates of them.

Not so recently. Deleting them from user accounts 6 weeks later... sigh. Yet another GOG bug. At least we can "re-buy" them for free.

Interestingly, I lost them from my library (non-Galaxy user). Doing an account refresh didn't re-add them, so I just "bought" them again by claiming the free versions.

It's certainly odd behaviour from the site.

In my case it happened at the moment, when I added a new game to my account. Therefore, the list of owned games has been updated. But it could simply be a coincidence.
Checked my account. Elder scrolls arena and daggerfall removed from my account.

Still in place on both my backup drives.

Cant seem to find a receipt for these games in my email archives but remember being informed at purchase point that they were added for free.

Highly skeptical of gog on this.

Can anyone tell if free version now available through the cart is in anyway different from the historical versions given away when purchasing another product?

I'm pretty sure they're the same and the change simply reflected Bethesda adding them to Steam due to the closure of the Bethesda Launcher. I doubt they even have the compilers to alter then recompile 16-bit DOS games anyway.
I confirm that they disappeared for me after buying new games at Sunday.

Adding games through giveaway banner or activating gift code didn't trigger disappearance (I saw reports of these games vanishing before) so I guess that explains why not everyone is affected.

Yes, there was no order receipt when they were added along with the purchase of another Bethesda title. There is one when "buying" them now.

They're the same.
