It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I just did an update...Windows 10 1803...and now the games i have with GOG are crashing after only a minute or two. Steam games appear to be OK.
Anyone have any ideas?
Might be helpful if you mentioned which games and if you;re using Galaxy or not.

It's either Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Far Cry, or F.E.A.R. and yes he is using Galaxy.

That update seems to be having a pretty disastrous roll-out. Supposedly its actually bricking a lot of people computers, so in a way your actually kind of lucky.
I recommend sticking with Win7 SP1, disable updates.

But i've been saying that for a while...

Yep...so far...Crysis Warhead and Crysis. fear seems ok and have not yet tried Far Cry.
what do you think about uninstalling and re-install???

A bit more info....the game screen goes black and the screen just reverts to the home screen and keeps the game icon on the taskbar and when you click on it the game screen comes back and the whole process just keeps repaeating. i get about 1 minutes game play before it happens. it's just a big loop.

I won't hurt to try it. If it doesn't work you can either wait for MS to fix the problem, or you can roll back the update. At least I think you can roll back the update.

Yeah but what about security updates and software that allows the use of modern hardware? I had major issues trying to even go back to seven on new stuff. Too much issues with 7 being so old now. It sucks but 7 was the best thing ever but times move on and we have to just part ways with it you know? I still miss my old XP media centre edition... good times I say.
1803 is still very new and bugs need to be ironed out, I always disable updates and the forcing of updates and give every new version of 10 3 months to iron out all the issues, THEN install it without issues.

Fairfox: is win10 last version of windows?
Might be for a long, long time. I have a feeling we will see windows become free someday and adopt the apple model.

Look, we got those transforming updates like apple gives out so my guess is the free OS thing might happen in 5 or so years. beats me but I hope it does happen.

There will still be drivers for a while that allow you to use newer/older/current hardware. But you could always be a little picky i suppose.

Reminds me... i have a webcam from 2005. Says it won't work on Windows 7. I extract the vista drivers, manually install it, and it works... Hmmm... :P

As for security, with Vault 7 and the like, the only security you can fully ensure is if you aren't hooked on the internet...

Or you could go with GNU/Linux, but then again that doesn't lead well to hardware either, only security to some degree.

Truthfully i just don't trust Microsoft as far as i can throw them.
One thing to consider is clickong on the Windows icon in the lower left corner and clicking on SETTINGS "the cog wheel looking thing" and check the settings under GAMING. I always make sure all of those settings are off and IIRC sometimes an update reverts those back to being on and they caused me some trouble with games before. Not saying that's it at all but it's at least worth a look.

But it's getting so damned old. Nearly every time Windows does an update it borks one or some of my games.... usually the older ones. (never seems to mess with 2015 or later releases for some reason). And I'm so fed up with this happening every time of an update I've said it before and will repeat it here. Microsoft will never, EVER get another dime from me. Ever. If I have to give up gaming on a computer and go to a console that's what I'll do (although I'll at least give a Linux a try as an option before that one).

Screw you Microsoft. And the monopoly practices you rode in on.
Yea! Get an Xbox. That'll show them!

LOL... there are non-microsoft consoles out there and I always bought my son Sony's PlayStation and he's always said he actually prefers that to Microsoft's Xbox. I've never actually tried an XBox (and won't now) but I did play with his PlayStation 2 and 3 some and I played a whole bunch of hours on his childhood Nintendo stuff (Nintendo, Nintendo 2, and Nintendo 64). The Legend of Zelda is still one of my favorite games of all time (I like the 3rd installment for Nintendo 2 called A Link To the Past... man a great, great game IMO).
Sorry. I couldn't resist. You set it up so perfectly.
