Thanks for the replies folks, keep them coming, and we can see in several cases that a few games are common between many of us.

It is a shame we don't have something like Community Wishlists for the pricing of a game, that already exist here on GOG, that have never had a discount or never a decent one.

I probably shouldn't use the word discount, as that kind of legitimatizes the base price, which is often way above what it should be. So see a decent discount as being the fair price a game should really be.

The dog eat dog marketplace, where providers get to decide the selling price, and we customers get to complain about it, if we don't like that. Capitalism working its heart out ... don't you just love it. LOL
I've been waiting for a sale on The Dark Heart of Uukrul few years with no luck. lol.
I don't have many games on GOG that I want but haven't bought yet, and the main reason for that is because GOG's selection of games, especially top tier premium games, is way too lacking.

And I am sure I'm not the only one who has this problem, as I see similar complaints in all the sales on GOG from major publishers, who rarely to never release more games on GOG, and every time such a sale happens, there are always tons of posts saying they need to release "new" games on GOG (even though the games aren't actually new).
Incidentally, I still have Steam wishlist emails enabled although I disabled GOG emails a long time ago.

Because I get 4 or 5 emails a year from Steam about games on my wishlist.

GOG, maybe it would be 50-100, with obnoxious email subjects, and the emails are basically ((broken image link broken image link broken image link no text content gore) with my email settings.

Steam at least realises that some people want text-based emails and tries to make sure that the content gets through even if some of the images don't load.

Yes, gog's marketing e-mails are obnoxious but wishlist alerts have always the same subject "Items on your wishlist are now discounted" and consist of only list of titles with discount and no images, emoji or other junk. Very clean and you can disable everything else in subscription settings. So I don't get criticism here.

It would probably annoy me if it went to my inbox, but I have filters setup in my emails that redirects them to another directory so I can look at them at a time of my convenience.

It is not a scalable solution across all of GOG's userbase (I'm sure most people are either completely unaware of email filters or not in the habit of tweaking them to make the flow of emails to their inbox more manageable without having to throwaway less important emails), but perhaps it could be something worth considering for your individual situation.

Well all the game on my wishlist as I am currently broke. Someone gifting me any of those would be appreciated (nah just joking, seriously)

But one game pisses me the most is Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. It used to be discounted at $4.99, a fair price and one I could've afford if I really wanted to. But ever since Bloodlines 2 was announced around June 2019, the discounted price was marked up to $14.99 on major sales. Greedy bastards.

And the funny thing is the announced sequel is now on development hell. So the old games is expensive and the new one will not be be around in the near future. Activision and Paradox can just fuck off.

Nowadays it often on sale at $9.99, a price I can't agree for a game released in 2004. I rather buy other games on my wishlist than Bloodlines.

Fair enough, I don't know if I ever enabled wishlist emails - it seems not. But I enabled the least obnoxious sounding option for a while - they have changed the descriptions since and the emails over the years gradually became much more spammy and much less accessible, eventually looking like the two mails I received recently (despite being opted out) - see attached image.

Keep in mind that you get subscribed to everything each time you claim a game from giveaway.

You are not the first person to suggest I am ignorant of this.

I always unsubscribe immediately after claiming any free giveaway.

But in March this didn't have an effect for whatever reason for about 10 days - I suspect until I claimed another giveaway, when the system resumed respecting my preferences.

This thread was when I started unsubscribing:

Marketing emails should not look and act like spam, or assume their recipients are idiots.

You should've bought it between June, 9th 2021 and June, 28th 2021 (summer sale?)
Back then, it was 50% off (= $2,99).

;o)

Yeah. Those sales are mostly lackluster (due to a lack of "new" games).
But - unfortunately - that's a problem, GOG can't really do much about.

If the major companies/publishers don't want to release (more of) their games DRM-free...

The game, want but did not buy yet, is The Binding of Issac due to its lack of updates (lacking behind the steam version) and daily challenges.

Yeah, this is an unfortunate trend.
Grim Fandango Remastered

Played this as a kid, but obviously didn't understand a thing. Not even English back then.
To name a few, they either didn't get discounted in a long time or the discount is not big enough to pull the trigger:

The Solus Project
Death Trash
Terminator: Resistance
Grim Dawn Definitive Edition
Terraria
Cuphead
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Project Zomboid
Jupiter Hell
Return of the Obra Dinn
Scorn
UnderRail
Star Trek: Bridge Commander
Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition
No Man's Sky

What also could make things harder on purchase decision is if you have the game elsewhere, lack of features on GOG version of the game, other platforms getting higher discounts than GOG, games being bundled many times etc.
