I wanted to buy the Syberia 2 game. I saw that it was only 8.99 EUR so I created a new account in order to make the purchase. However, after I checked the game page again, its price jumped to 9.99 EUR for no apparent reason.

I logged out and saw the price still didn't modify from 9.99. Strange. However, I removed all gog cookies from my browser, refreshed and surprise.. :) The game was 8.99 EUR again.

Why is the price different when having an account?

As Rottencorpsex and blotunga have pointed out, the currency is different. You're able to set which currency you want to use, and your account appears to be set to US Dollar. When you're not logged in GOG defaults to Euro, because you're in Germany.

On this page you can change your preferred currency. The main advantage of paying in your own currency is that you avoid your credit card (or PayPal) adding currency exchange fees.

Would it make more sense? Yes.

It would make sense. I wonder why it didn't. My first thought was that your account was from before they added Euro, but I see that this isn't the case.
