Hi I just bought this game 1 day ago & it only has loaded the first 20 gigs of 67 gigs for Witcher Goty +the 2 DLC's. Steam is slow but this loader is a snail I swiched for 6 MBS to Nav Sat which is about 30 MBS & it did improve it by 3 times quicker but it will take 7-8 days to load this game. Is this normal for this game , My computer is capable of internally downloading 1000 gigs of data in 6 minutes It is hella quick And it can download off the web almost as fast except for steam which still loads a 40 gig game in 6 hours.
Can anyone tell me if this is going to work. I live in Thailand now but all my downloads are from Sacremento Ca.
I don't see anywhere where I can check in settings to route this through the U.S. to get a faster download speed. The loader says at 6MBS internet speed it is only loading at .5 MBS ```will this be the same when I reformat my format in 2 months 7 days to install all over again?
Thanks again for help!

May be your route to GOG. I have no issues downloading at 11MB/s (20GB is downloaded in about a half hour). That is through Galaxy.
See attached.

Are you talking about megabytes or megabits per second? Scratch that, going by your posted times 40 GB in 6 hours it's megabit.

I have a 150 megabit/s internet connection (which is about 18 megabytes/s or about 1 gigabyte per minute) and GOG can usually serve me at my full line speed. I usually download the installers through the web using a download manager.

which is approx 1/10th the speed (when you add control bits and crc bits to the mix)

Be glad you aren't some sites which intentionally lock the speed to 5k/s... Spending a week downloading a game that i might play in a few months :P

So don't complain to me :P I still think 150k/s is fast and good enough for me.

Better watch it. When I tried to explain that a few months ago, I got told rather strongly I didn't know what I was talking about. :)

Two suggestions for the poster:

- Make sure what ever download method you're using can actually see past the firewall. You don;t mention if you're using Galaxy, the old GoG Downloader or a direct download via the web. Kind of hard to point you in the right direction bu that may be the issue.

- Head to a local internet cafe. :)

Haha :P

Maybe should pull up some of the old 70's manuals that talk about it over serial cables; Newer technology probably still uses it, but it's at a hardware level and done transparently (but the overhead is still there)
