To be honest, I don't know. I did, however, find it interesting that the whole "linear fighters, quadratic wizards" trope applies to the game. (The endgame is actually quite manageable if you are playing a pure mage, even on Hard++, which I consider to make the game difficult in a manner that isn't fun.)
