So my Galaxy keeps wanting to install to my E:/ drive for some reason. Problem is I don't have an E:/ drive anymore and I'm not going to change any of them to E because it would mess up so many other things. And then it acts as if I chose E:/ drive when it doesn't give me a choice at any point. In fact, this is the exact error message:

"The drive or UNC share you selected does not exist or is not accessible. Please select another." Yeah, I'd love to.

I would include a screenshot but apparently JPEG and PNG aren't supported file types for images? Odd choice.

EDIT: Added screenshot after being informed of the case sensitivity.

Go into settings and choose a correct install path.

How exactly do I go into settings without installing Galaxy first?

Change the extension to lowercase. The joker who wrote the forum software made it case sensitive for some reason, which normally isn't a problem because extensions generally are lowercase. However, the Windows Snipping Tool likes to save things with uppercase extensions for some reason. It's not normally a problem, but the GOG forum has a tantrum about it.

Please post a screenshot of the screen that appears before that.

Here's a screenshot of every step up to that point just for extra clarity.

Did you have the old Galaxy installed on E and never uninstalled it?

If so, press Windows key + R, type Regedit, press Ctrl+F, type Galaxy, remove any mention of the old path. Try to install Galaxy again.

I did used to have it there but I uninstalled it. I guess there's a chance it didn't uninstall properly for some reason, but it's very annoying that it won't let me select another install location. It must be a combination of an issue with the uninstall and the renaming of the drive. Oh well, I'll give that a shot. Thank you!

I forgot to mention, after Ctrl+F; F3 to search for the next entry.

After a little digging around in there I removed everything related to Galaxy (seeing as I have nothing installed of it on my PC atm) but couldn't find anything still tying it to my E:/.

I don't feel too comfortable poking around in my registry much deeper than that. I have a basic level of IT knowledge but I know enough to know that I shouldn't mess around in my registry with things I'm not super comfortable with. But even after removing the GOG Galaxy stuff it still attempts to install to that drive for some reason.

A few more things to try:
- Go to Control Panel > Programs & Features. Do you see Galaxy anywhere? If so, uninstall.
- Restart your computer.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the default install path for games. My bad.

Have you tried uninstalling the old Galaxy install through the windows control panel to remove any old traces left?

Edit: And here I go being ninja'd by teceem...

I grew up in the 80s... I never imagined that I actually could become (some sort of) ninja! :-P

It's all good, I probably clapped back a bit too much like a smartass but I was frustrated and in my head I was like "I said installing Galaxy!" So I'm sorry too.

Alright, now things are getting interesting. This is the only place I can find mention of GOG on my system besides some steam files for games that associate with GOG and the installer for 2.0 I just downloaded. It *does* indeed show up in my uninstall but it acts like I just deleted the files without uninstalling, which I know I would never do.
