dtgreene: Honestly, I think that adding things like XP to something like Galaxy makes things too complicated. If we keep adding things like this, we'll end up with the mess that is Steam with things like trading cards. Um, I would like to actually focus on playing the games how *I* want to play them, not worry about client features.
Also, every feature that is added to a program (like Galaxy) is another potential source of bugs. When it comes to adding a feature, it is necessary to weigh the benefit of the feature against the risk of bugs and the effort to maintain the feature over the years. Some features (like rollback) are worth the effort; adding XP to the client is not.
Nobody talked about Steam trading cards, and you can still focus on the game, that argument makes no sense.
Maverick89: Uplay has a level system where you gain xp by getting achievements, Galaxy could make something like that, gaining xp by buying games, ahcievements, playtime. It's not some major feature but it would be nice.
BKGaming: The forum is full of people who don't care for achievements and client software so you going to get flamed for this for no reason. The rest of us are enjoying Galaxy and these features to much to care.
I agree with you though, some kind of level up system would be nice. I've always preferred how Xbox and PS handle achievements, I actually like PS's level system and platinum trophies a little more.
Engerek01: I am not against it but seeing how even forum reputation system can cause problems with people, i dont see "need" for it. I only know Steam's level system where i was level 5 even if i had 500 games and my votings didnt count. I actually had to play random games in order to gain level. I am a collector, not a player.
BKGaming: That I don't agree with. The PlayStation level system was nice it was more like a RPG game within itself. I would like to see something like that. Each trophy made your level go up but it got harder the more levels you went up.
It's just an idea but the forum is full of internet warriors #facepalm.
