So the "No DRM" that COG touts is a load of BS, unless I can play the games I purchase without Galaxy.

To make matters even worse, I get the following message:
"Galaxy client does not currently support running with multiple user sessions. Please ask others to log out of the system."

First of all, that tells me that you people don't understand the Mac and why we prefer it. So in order for me to play COG games, the rest of my family has to log out. That is NOT going to work.

I will be needing a refund.

You can play the games you purchase without Galaxy. Download the offline installers.

You can also play them through Galaxy without being connected.

Unless you're talking about GWENT here?

If you complain here on the forum, you will just get scolded for not understanding how things work.

If you really want a refund, make a support ticket.
I miss the days when people told you what the problem was, that was before the psykers started being born, it really sucks for us non-psykers.

cuz I like being a helpful guy and all, but I cant read minds.
With the exception of maybe GWENT every game on GOG has a no Galaxy version. On the page with the download links it tells you if its the Galaxy version or not.
Refund for which ones, you have thirteen.

Evidently Galaxy wasn't DRM for the first twelve. :P

Oh, joy... here we go again. (-_-)
I won't get into the old debate of whether or not Galaxy is DRM, but I'd like to point out that the non-Galaxy installers which can be run without any Inet connection are just below that big blue button, hidden under the "DOWNLOAD OFFLINE BACKUP GAME INSTALLERS" drop-down stuff. Try using these instead of Galaxy.

"Refund" being mentioned rules Gwent out since it's free-to-p(l)ay. Or so I assume.

You don't even need the offline installers, just start the game from the game folder or make a shortcut. Games will launch without Galaxy running just fine (except for Gwent).

Do you know how to go about requesting a refund? It's not here on the forum.

Maybe that was the request and he's asking one of us for it.

I have 37 cents and a Bazooka Joe wrapper. Can anyone else chip in?

Yes, I should have counted to 642 before posting this.

And I do appreciate the timely responses.

I will look for the non-Galaxy installers.

About those 13 games: I only purchased 7 today. I honestly have no idea where the others came from. They're not the genre I ever play. (I play the puzzle games - LOVE Machinarium.)

It takes guts to admit when you overreacted. Too many people in here might just keep screaming.

And I'm guessing you got some freebies when you joined, though I don't know if they are the same ones I got when I joined years ago. If Tyrian is in there, check it out. Old school horizontal shooter for when you want to give your brain a rest and just shoot.

BK I know from other topics there is a tendency of you defending Galaxy...but this is upping the ante to recommend against offline installers when the user indicated not wanting Galaxy. Though this topic is more proof that the offline installers are not easy or intuitive to find compared to the "optional" Galaxy. Imo, it's reminiscent of programs like Flash trying to sneak Goolag Chrome, Norton, et al into the download hoping the user won't unclick the checkbox.
I've got to know: Why is COG such a common error? It's not like the g in the logo looks anything like a c.

I think I should capitalise on this, start a competitor called Cool Old Games. After a couple of years I can just change the name to COG and pretend it never stood for anything.
