It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

How can I get rid of this? One solution would be to just click on one star all the time when closing a game. But I don't want to punish the devs.

After last update, it does it after playing any game with more than 5 hours registered.
Another reason to disable time tracking... Or to not use Galaxy at all. Your choice.

To be honest I don't like clients at all but some backup installers won't download without galaxy. I don't know why. The customer service said they've tried it and all downloads should work without the client.

But I will try the timetracking solution. Thanks for the reply.

Which don't download? Easy for other users to check if they download, ie. it is not an universal problem.

I don't remember. It was a long time ago. But the GOG staff tried to replicate the error by downloading those
games which didn't work for me. It always worked on their PC. So my issue is definitely not an universal problem.
However I was only able to fix it for myself by installing Galaxy.

Ah ok, I thought it was a persistent problem, unable to download them even today...

Hiccups here and there are almost expected.

1) Uninstall galaxy

2) Use offline installers

3) There is no step three

Or try asking over here: https://www.gog.com/forum/general_beta_gog_galaxy_2.0#1724235598 at the Galaxy specific forum.

I use the installers but some users still using the old Galaxy version 1.2 wich seems to work fine:

https://content-system.gog.com/open_link/download?path=/open/galaxy/client/setup_galaxy_1.2.67.58.exe
I usually need to beat the games original campaign or the whole game when i want to give it a stars rating. I recently started using galaxy due to browser offline slow download speeds for a year. But i still mostly play without galaxy. 5 hours is to less time to give it a star rating and be forced to give them.
Honestly, The ability to edit my reviews would make me want to rate/review far more than a prompt.

I avoid reviewing games unless they are 100% "dead" without any doubt. Else I cannot update my review if an update changes things for better or worse.
Can the prompt to give a rating be dismissed or is it mandatory, as in, it somehow "locks" galaxy functionality unless a rating is given ?

So don't. Pick something other than 1 star.

You can choose "Maybe later" but it just pops up again the next time you close the game.

Thanks.

That's no good then. Likely the "feature" is going to be used more to rate its own intrusiveness and not so much the games.

Ah well, it's not like i even try to understand where on earth gog is going with galaxy anymore.

Hello everyone! Thanks for staying vigilant and raising it.

In short: That modal showing constantly is a malfunction and it shouldn't work like this. We know what's causing it and we're working on a fix as we speak.

We're sorry for the inconvenience. Please bear with us a little bit while we fix it!
