arivald never mentions fjord casrtle when talking to him so it never shows up on map to go there!any suggestions?

Hmm, that's odd.
Have you spoken to the Innkeeper about everything?
You've definitely given the un-cursed jewel to the dwarf?
Try leaving the Tavern, going back into Tavern, and giving the spell to Arrivald again.

Have you talked to the monk about the castle? In conversation with Arivald after he tells you you need to talk to a demon, you mention the haunted castle the monk told you about and then Arivald identifies it as Fjord. I know you had to have talked to the monk to get to the point where you can talk to Arivald, but maybe you missed that particular dialogue option?

If that's not it, then I have no clue. Also, sorry if I'm misremembering something.

I reinstalled the game and started over-followed the walk through-now everything is ok!

Good to know everything is okay now. It's a fantastic game.
