Yeah, that's what the displayed title used to be, before Ciris changed it. Unfortunately, while they can prevent offensive words from being displayed on the forum lists, they can't change the URL. Add it to the list of things GOG has neglected fixing.

in my experience with similar reputation systems, letting the users know exactly who downvoted them or up their "points" incites even more retarded herding behavior, and flame "wars".

i would suggest stricter rules and more moderation , but nobody seems to agree with me here.

If we just had the PM functionality we used to have, half of the problem would be solved right there.

If we could get back HALF the features we used to have... A nice display shelf... manual sorting... PM logging and features... DRM-free games... no client...

Frankly, they should just get rid of the rep system. Leave a system for downvoting/upvoting individual posts, but don't tie it to a reputation system at all.

Ciris: I'll just address the issue that you're asking about.

I got a message a while back from a user about the issue and as soon as I did, I passed it on to others in the company. Since then, we've been looking at various options of how to solve the problem (either temporarily while we work on a permanent solution or permanently from the start), and I'll be able to provide you with more information next week as to what exactly it will be - I don't want to announce a new functionality before it's sure to be implemented.

Unfortunately, I find the new title highly offensive as well.

I never thought I'd mention this publicly, but....pumpkin spice killed my parents!!!!....-stifles back tears-

Without any rep, we wouldn't recognize some scammers and leechers, so it's a lesser evil.

Unfortunately because of it it's getting harder to tell who isn't a scammer or leecher. You have great form regs getting their rep obliterated leading a lot of people to see low rep + old join date = scammer.

If GOG were actually dealing with the bad actors instead of ignoring the issue, we wouldn't even need the rep system to identify scammers, they simply wouldn't be here.

And those people don't care about having the biggest e-peen on GOG's forums. Rep serves no purpose for those who already participate constructively on the forums.

Just wanted to let everyone know. The harasser is from some Eastern European country where Yahoo Messenger used to be popular years ago. I know this because the ":))))))))))))))" are a staple mark of people who used that chat system too much because the laughing hard emote is written like this ":))". The excess of parentheses is just a thing of bad taste.
