The majority of this statisic is a big lie, most casualties resulted between 1917 and late 1930, which is due to the power wars.
Then again, the motives for 1917 revolution were due to bad economical state and oppresive imperial Russian government (exactly like Great Britain, btw). The communist revolution itself was externally funded, very probably by Europe to destroy Russia when it was in weak state - but the outcome was unexpected as they did not expect new goverment to survive, expecting just fragmentation and mass chaos, let alone become independent. The simularity to Ukrainian maidan is extreme to 1917-1930, with exactly same mass media brainwashing, corruption, extreme government brutality and secret police jailing and killing people just for expressing opinions.
Quote is not attributed to him and is part of anti-soviet propaganda.
