R8V9F5A2: I think the gameplay concept alone will be enough to make the game successful, even if its not 100% perfect in all areas.
There are few things our mainstream loves more than multiplayer, and combining it with horror is a very smart idea.
I'm in doubt of how commercially successful quality horror can actually be when focused on single-player, looking at all the Alien Isolation special editions that are so cheap today. If a game sells really well the special editions tend to run out rather quickly due to their nature of being in limited supply, but with Alien Isolation they are still very much around.
Either they overestimated their sales or it didn't sell as much as we like to think.
So making a high-quality horror game multiplayer-focused makes more business sense in a way.
huh? Multiplayer and horror are a horrible idea. Because nothing is scarier than kicking back with a bro online and joking about how he just got killed again in the parlour by another player. There are few things our mainstream loves more than multiplayer, and combining it with horror is a very smart idea.
