[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic. (this one)
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

foad01: The Marathon Games are freeware and can be downloaded from the Aleph One website.

https://alephone.lhowon.org/

There is no need to download them from shady stores.
Zoom is a legit store. It's not amazing by any means, but it is legit. I have an account with a few of the freebies they gave away over the years.

On the topic, the Marathon trilogy is also available over Steam for free, has been for a while actually.
The Marathon games are not a giveawya, they have been free for years. They are on Steam as well.

Yeah, I'm aware of that, but it's always good to have a copy in more than one place. And despite being free for years... The trilogy never made it onto GOG, which is strange.

I agree 100% my bro! I also picked up a few things there. =D

Evidently it is not. Between Steam and ZOOM Platform, I'll stick with ZOOM. I would venture to say that the Steam version requires their client to download the files, and there must be DRM in the mix, I mean, the requirement to run the Steam client to be able to play. ZP is at least the same as GOG with its offline installers. =)

Thinking about what I said above, let's be honest, a free game, even if it's not temporary, is still a type of giveaway, a giveaway with no deadline. ;)

Thank you Rep7icant and Frontier Developments, now I feel part of the Elite (pun intended).
Epic Games:

Garden Story - Link

Garden Story is an adorable indie action RPG game.
If you like Stardew valley or Starbound, you might like this game.
But this is more combat-focused and has no farming.
It is more akin to the fishing mode in Stardew valley.
You play as a grape who undertakes the role of a knight.
You receive community challenges to restore the town (which is actually a garden).
As you progress, you unlock other areas in the garden and level up your weapon.
By conquering garden boss monsters like a large thorny vine, you clear more rot in the garden.
The rot is basically garden rot, and you must defend the garden town from it.
Conceptually, the rot is similar to Terraria's corruption.
However, this game takes a perspective of agricultural plants, unlike the other games.
To put things in perspective, as a human, you might see garden rot as an annoyance,
But for plants, it is an epidemic.

With that said, this game is a relaxing game.
So don't be sour grapes and take the rot monsters to the press.

Features single player only.

A brief summary from the developers:
Embark on a wholesome adventure to save The Grove! Forage resources
Combat the invasive Rot, and restore the community.
Relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor in this charming action-RPG starring a grape.

World War Z: Aftermath - Link

This is a semi-repeat. Upgrade for existing owners

You should already own the base game but add it again today to receive a free premium upgrade.
The Aftermath upgrade will unlock World War Z: GOTY edition for you.
Very similar to Left 4 Dead series for fans of zombie games.
You play as first person view only in the Aftermath edition.
But the base game has other modes and that is where you can experience the 3rd person perspective.
Find 3 other friends and create a squad.
You must survive each wave of zombies.
The game moves in a fast pace with swarms of hundreds of zombies.
Prepare for the adrenaline rush!

Features single player, coop and multiplayer.

A brief summary from the developers:
World War Z is a heart-pounding coop third-person shooter
Up to 4 players featuring massive swarms of hundreds of zombies,
Focused on fast-paced, gruesomely spectacular action.

Other ongoing giveaways:

Playable on mobile Android/iOS, not PC.

The Epic mobile app is pretty new, I believe.

Epic Games:

Mages of Mystralia - Link

This is a repeat.

Mages of Mystralia is a world of magic for action RPG lovers.
You play as a girl named, Zia who was born with magic in her veins.
However, the Kingdom of Mystralia has long banned sorcery (rings a bell).
The exiled mages form an underground community.
In the journey of being a secret mage, Zia trains her magical powers, and
Meets other exiled mages and discovers different magical runes that help upgrade her power.
With great magic comes great boss fights.

Features single player only.

A brief summary from the developers:
In The kingdom of Mystralia, it takes more brains than brawn to succeed.
You will face down giant, powerful creatures and navigate treacherous terrain.
You will encounter puzzles that confound even the wisest of the old sages.
And you must overcome obstacles put in place by people who do not want you to succeed.

Other ongoing giveaways:
