[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic. (this one)
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

I don't get why it doesn't work. I have the like button clicked yet it gives a red triangle which says "user like required" :/

It requires liking on Facebook. Do you have a facebook blocker of some sort?

The only thing I have is Social Fixer, and quite an updated version (have 109 when 12 is the current).
I do like them on facebook, and when I click the like button on the key box it does connect to facebook prior to changing to "liked"
(When I "unlike" previously in order to click like again). But the triangle warning remains
- and when I click it it loads a facebook mini window that doesn't actually load... but the DLH page reloads and stays the same.
2 previously paid DLC for Red Dead Redemption (Xbox360) are now free on xbox.com.

Mark your calendars for July 13th because Ubisoft announced on its Twitter page that they will be giving away "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell" for free on their Uplay service via the Ubisoft Club Website. Currently the Ubisoft Club has Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time for free. This title will be replaced with Splinter Cell starting July 13th. It looks like UPlay is doing something similar like Origin's "On the House" promo to try to get more people signed up for their UPlay service.

Of note that this will only last until the end of 2016, this is because of their anniversary, so unlike Origin's On The House, it will end at some point, unless they prove otherwise.

Must I install that client of theirs to participate in the free offers? Or can I skip and use only the site like on Origin?

I was able to get Prince of Persia for free by using the site and signing in with my UPlay credentials. But you'll still need the client if you want to download your free game.

Like the poster above is saying, you can claim it from the website. You'll still have to use the client. But yes, it's like Origin: claim the offer from their site and then download the game later with Origin.

BenKii:
I hope it includes the mission pack with 3 new missions, like the GOG version.

"Free" Predator Simulator (Steam)
Game Giveaway of the day — Wall Street Raider

Speculator, The Stock Market Simulation, is the ultimate in sophisticated investment and trading games. Up to 10 players (9 of whom can be computer players) compete among themselves, trading in the treacherous stock, bond, options, and commodity futures markets, to try to grow an initial inheritance of $100,000 into the millions (or lose it all!) in 30 years, by the time you reach retirement age. Time progresses rapidly, as the stock ticker runs, and a game can last for several hours of actual time -- with no two games ever the same.

Speculator has an amazingly realistic economic and financial model in which all action occurs, so that you can do real investment research before making your trades, by studying balance sheets, earnings reports, and research reports on individual stocks, as well as reading industry and economic reports and projections, to try to find the next hot investment.
