[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic. (this one)
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

I tried it, and it works. They send you an e-mail with your key. If you want a steam key for pid let me know. I already have it in my Steam library, and was curious to see if it would work, or not.

I don't remember ever seeing a free GOG game anywhere but on GOG itself. I kind of like that keys aren't expendable. I feel like I'm buying a legit product here that won't be given away for free, or in a bundle two weeks later like Steam.

GOG does feel more classy like that but it also means it's also way more expensive in some ways.

True, but Imo I can't think of one purchase here that I ever thought to myself "damn if I just waited a little longer I could have saved 3 dollars, and collected Steam cards...fml" So in the long scheme of things it's one of those you get what you pay for, so in a sense we're paying a little more to not have the dog, and pony show included with most Steam purchases (drm, cards, achievements, etc)

Edit: I''d also like to say to that end I do have a rather extensive Steam collection, but love when I can pick something up here as opposed to there. =)

They have achievements through Galaxy or will as I understand it and as for Cards some people would lose their mind with joy and excitement if GOG had trading cards (I personally don't get it but some love them for their *value* in trading)

I can't deny those are two valid points.
