PaterAlf: So the game will vanish from my account after September, 14, 2015? This is quite stupid. I can understand why unredeemed gift keys should expire after a certain date, but removing a game from an active account? I don't see the sense.

Anyway, I made a backup from everything (I always do), so I don't really have to worry.
Same here ! It's ridiculous to remove a game from an active account because it's free !
What's the interest to have digital games if you have to make a physical backup ?
Pretty sure they mean that the game will be available for free for a limited time, after that it will no longer be free but it will still stay on your account though if you grabbed it.

This. I think the same. For me you just have to redeem the gift key until September 14, 2015 at 10am Pacific.

P.S.: Thanks Barefoot_Monkey for the information!

Maybe, but I prefer to make a backup of the drm-free version and the goodies, by safety. If they are still on my account after September 14th, I will erase the backup.
Just a heads up, but tomorrow, the free stuff should be vanishing from your accounts, so make sure to backup your installer and/or redeem your Steam key.

I doubt it, as it wouldn't make sense to display this notice in your account. Besides, the game was available for free till 31 August. This is different.

Yeah, I'm with Grargar on that the way it is explained it will be removed from your Humble account, but why they are doing this I don't know, especially considering that the Steam key, once redeemed, won't get taken away, so you still own the game. Therefore what's the point in taking away the DRM free version? Seems very strange, so I can only guess it is the dev and/or publisher insisting on it.

This is not the first time they've done this. I can't remember which free game it was before, but the download page turned into a stub with no links. Just seems to be the way Humble does 'free'. I agree it's pretty weird to remove the download since the Steam key stays active.

You, sir, are correct. I just had a look in my Humble account at Receiver, which I got for free in some sale event, and that is just a stub, as you said, with no download links and just a message saying that the promotion ended on Sept 29th (last year). How did I not notice that before? Possibly because I hated Receiver when I tried to play it.
The DRM-free version and the goodies are still available in my library !

There never was a DRM-free download for Receiver. They only gave away a Steam key for that game (which was annoying, because they sell a DRM-free version in their store).

I can't imagine that I paid much attention to it, really, considering how much I hated it. But yes, I did play it via a Steam key.
Wow! I totally missed the conversations on this expiring. I redeemed the free game and assumed it was added to my account. I didn't check back later at all. Just now I was going through my Humble account redeeming Steam keys from recently purchased bundles to find that the whole thing is gone. No Steam key, no DRM-free download, no nothing. I guess that will teach me to not follow up and simply take things for granted. Wow, just wow....
