Thanks, I haven't played Space Quest II since the mid '90s when I found the Asimov FTP site at school and pirated it as it was one of the titles I never managed to pick up. By then it was AbandonWare, but the site was controversial at the time.

However, the download selection is confusing and I can't find any help on the site. Can you explain what the different files are? There seem to be 3 Windows installers. BTW, the original Space Quest I and II can be found on the Apple IIGS Memory Fairway, now called "What is the Apple IIGS" as well as the "Asimov FTP site".
No links because they might be considered piracy as they are AbandonWare sites and Asimov was considered a pirate site in the mid '90s as a few companies still had some of the titles listed in their mail-order catalog (Mostly educational titles for use with a IIe Card.) until the end of the 20th century.

So it looks like the 1.1.exe is an earlier version I assume. The Linux is....well, obviously for Linux. Rar one is probably a archived file in which those tend to ask you where you wanna unpack it and then play it. Could be wrong, maybe its just a packed executable. That RAR also seems to be a version 2.0. The 2.0 executable seems like a basic install exe for that version and for MacOS, obviously for a Mac PC.

Could have sworn the same fan team made a VGA SQ1 remake, but maybe I remember incorrectly as I could not find it. No matter, part 2 is nice to have =D

Did I skirt too close to a line or cross it? I deliberately did not link, but both sites are well-known (or were a decade ago) in what's left of the Apple II community. I thought it was safe to reference them.
I haven't seen any controversy about Asimov since the '90s (when it was very controversial in 1996, and the subject of a dozen flame wars on comp.sys.apple2) after the last commercial publisher stopped selling software for it and it became the only place to get the titles, but I haven't been active in the A2 community in 15 years.
Not since Comcast dropped their Usenet news server and I had to rely on Google Groups to get to comp.sys.apple2.

Although this game I found is an online multi-player title. The game supports a full single player mode as well. It is still being developed and when you go to their Discord channel. You can talk directly to the developers and even offer help and ideas.

The game runs on intel gpu's of a modern generation, so technically, those could be viewed as a potato. The Thief fan made content and Anomaly are a little up there. But yeah. Some can play them and its pretty cute too!

Grab the Nightly of your OS. As they state, you do not get automatic updates and must return there to get any updated versions each time, if you do not use their Launcher. If you use their launcher, you should be just fine for auto updates and the multi-player aspect. But I cannot confirm this as I only tested their single player nightly.

Adding Veloren. Tested this game a little while. I keep getting killed, but because it takes some time distance one self from Minecract game play. Its not Minecraft. The game has everything that would make you think it is, but it plays with completely different mechanics altogether. As such, it makes playing it, confusing.

Kind of has a Neverwinter game play with a WASD control meets Minecraft graphics. But if you played minecraft, you will get really confused. All in all decent game. Just needs adjusting to it.

I remember getting that game for free on a computer magazine disc decades ago. :)

Seems a lot of people like Dinkwood. While not my cup of tea, the list isnt about my personal preference entirely and I want to provide a wide range. So it makes the list. Hope others will enjoy it as much as the folks suggesting it. Thanks for the suggestions!

I also keep being surprised by its popularity, since I for one consider it one of the worst games I ever played. No AI or pathfinding to speak of, no equipment (can just equip one item), only keyboard movement, a number of different enemy types, items and spells that can be counted on one hand, an unremarkable story and humor that falls flat... But hey, tastes and all I guess.

I know I'm quite late to reply but hey, hope you'll like it, too.

(also try Iji if you hadn't yet. it's fantastic.)
