Tallima: I'm always confused when ideals such as:
- don't spend money you don't have
- don't murder children
- make sure people follow the written laws
- people in the govt follow and obey the Constitution
- the family unit is the core of society
- gov't should not spy on people without reason
- military should be used for defending our nation, not screwing with other people
are considered completely insane, nut-job right-winger insane.
Here are some things of note:
- don't murder children:
You are probably referring to abortion. The way I see it, the fetus is part of the woman's (or trans man's) body, and it is therefore said parent's decision on what to do with it. (Also, don't forget that sometimes pregnancy can be dangerous; look up "ectopic pregnancy".)
- make sure people follow the written laws:
Sometimes the laws are wrong and should be broken.
- people in the govt follow and obey the Constitution
Actually, some conservatives in the government don't obey it. Take a look at all the laws promoting Christianity (this includes things like the National Prayer Breakfast). According to Amendment I of the Constitution, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion". Also note, from Amendment XIV Section 1: "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws." (Case in point: Kim Davis.)

This fails for a couple reasons. First, not every family is a healthy unit. Abusive parents exist. Second, when conservatives say "family", they usually mean *their* notion of family and exclude, for example, families with two moms.
