An actual journalist is invited by the lovely people at FOX "News". Can`t remember when I laughed that much out lout xD

low rated
I have heard that people who listen to fox news (often called "fox "news"" (quotes around "news") or "faux news" by many) are less informed about the news than people who don't listen to the news at all.

Also, I know that fox news is horrible about transgender issues. See:
http://mediamatters.org/blog/2015/07/09/fox-news-special-report-demeans-transgender-tee/204348

(Note that this is not the only thing that fox news is bad about.)
MSNBC vs Fox =
Stalin vs Hitler
You watch what you like, and I'll watch what I like.

Some of us don't want our news to be watered down with facts.
Yes that is a good point actually.

Just google "tide goes in, tide goes out". You won't be disappointed...well, depending on what you're expecting.
I watch and read FOX News (as well as others). FOX is often misleading with headlines and occasionally its articles smell of bad facts. But I made the switch from CNN to FOX ages ago when CNN simply was not reporting what I considered to be important news. FOX was.

FOX leans right. CNN leans left. MSNBC leans really left. Bill Mayer leans far enough left that I'm surprised he hasn't somehow crossed to the right in some weird circular non-Euclidian political spectrum.

It's good to listen to a lot of people and understand the facts that you want to know. The world is big and you can't get all the news.

I was just talking to a friend who lives 1/2 here and 1/2 in Turkey and he was telling me about how the Kurds were bombing Turkey and the US permitted Turkey only 48 hours to respond or "consequences" would be had. We didn't hear anything about it here, but Turkey news was going nuts. To me, that's important.

I used to visit the AP page, but there's just too much news there.

Anyhoots, read what you like. Believe some, all or none. Matters little.

When did this happen? There is no sign of this news in any news channel or newspaper.

In Turkey news channels dont give news, they only give magazine. If a football team transfers a player it is 1 hour news but 20 people die but you wont hear it from anywhere. Thats why we are organized in Facebook, cos thats the only way of getting news nowadays. There is also Twitter. Thats why Turkish goverment bans Facebook, twitter and youtube periodically to avoid news getting out. Like when President's bodyguards killed 3 people just because they said "booo" . No channel gave this news so we put the videos on youtube. And bam! youtube, FB and twitter were banned for 3 months. I hope you get the point.

Wow. That's sounds about right.

My friend was saying how people kept harassing him for more information and asking why the White House wouldn't allow them to retaliate. He kept saying "I'm an American, but not America. I don't make those decisions," which, of course, everyone already knew but they were frustrated.

He lives in Smyrna, so I can't imagine Kurds attacked way out that far. I figured it was all in the news. But it must be word-of-mouth news. I'll have to ask him next time I see him.

Thanks for sharing about Turkey! I'm very fascinated about your country and culture. It's hard to get reliable information here except from first-hand accounts. Everything my friend tells me seems completely different from what I read.

P.S. Here's an article that references what I think he must have been talking about: http://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/6223/turkey-isis-kurds

Fox signs in, Fox signs off. You can't explain that.

This news is backwords. First, Turkey is not bombing Kurds, We are bombing PKK, a terorrist organization that killed 2 thousand (2000) people in Turkey only in the last 2 years which in total of 50 thousand people in 30 years. There were some kind of peace negotiations going on however PKK didnt respect this and killed 2 thousand people. Turkish goverment was late as usual. PKK terorists are trained in Kandil, they attack and then retreat back to Iraq. Thats why our Air forces bombed Kandil. Its very important to state that PKK are not Kurds. They claim they represent Kurds but in reality they are a mixed organization which holds the drug trade routes in middle east and europe.
Seems like most people watch news to confirm what they want to hear, rather than hear about what is actually happening. News is business now, and must pull a profit. So unpopular things get pushed to the side.

That's more like how my friend described it: These guys are killing Turks and getting away with it. But the US govt is upset b/c they are needing Kurds (and PKK???) to battle ISIS.

The article made it sound like Turkey is just a crazy place with crazy people. You all get a chance to bomb something so you just start bombing everything! It doesn't go into any real detail about motivations.

Anyhoots, like I said, it's hard to get real information here. It's weird that it's like that. But for some reason, the media either doesn't understand (most likely) or is simply refusing to share information. I hope their ignorant and not just lazy/scared/bought.

That is what we hear however we civilians dont get much information about this. According to rumors, USA is using PKK as a shield for ISIS. Turkish goverment was going with this but elections came and their votes were going down 10 points. So they started these operations out of the blue (I mean why wait 2 years) to gain sympathy from patriots. However these are all rumors.

Anyways, The topic was about FOX :)

It's not unusual for people saying stuff on the air to not even agree with what they're saying. Glenn Beck isn't as far right as people think, Stephen Colbert isn't as far left as people think, but they do their routines because it rakes in the dough. And then you have the regular news-readers who are mostly prima donnas who just want to look good on television and don't care which channel they're on. TV news is utterly lousy all around.
