Then again, I do recall Dewmi Moore's explanations of the rules to "Liar's Dice" in Leisure Suit Larry 7: Love for Sail.
You're welcome.
I haven't played that. Explaining the rules the better to stick the knife later? :)

I plead the fifth - if not for now now, for later later - I recall you using a similar argument about meta style and having fun recently? ;)

I will point out, as it occurred to me, that you folks might be under the lynch all liars modality. In this game you often should lie. Especially played face to face it's a huge part of the game - how it works in writing is more tricky. You're trying to head fake people into votes that reveal preferences. Otherwise you never have enough information.

On the flip side keeping track of who voted how will be much esier. I already have a nifty excel file ready...

But why do you single out HijacK as wanting to fail the mission, but not JMich? What's the difference between these two? Do you have more information on JMich than the rest of us?

snip
From previous games I see you and Hijack as loose cannons. :) Hence why I believe if either of you are spies, you will take the risk and ride it out. JMich is more calculating IMO. And since I think he is still feeling what the odds are... I guess if he is spy, he will pass to remain in the shadow.

So I'm judging on perceived personality, not on role. Need to run now. Have a some thoughts on captain role but no time.

PS: logically impossible suggestion there. If I was spy I'd have perfect info on all of you, not just JMich.

Dessimu: And if captain's proposed team for the mission is rejected, the choice for that mission's team goes to another captain, right? I am on the phone, it's just easier to ask.
If a captain's proposed team is rejected, then the next player in line to be captain will propose a team for the mission. Rinse and repeat until the 5th captain, who's proposed team will automatically be accepted.

Under the RL game rules, rejection of 5 proposed teams in a row results in victory for the spies (the Resistance is too paralyzed with indecision to topple the ruling regime). For this try at Forum Resistance, the 5th team proposal is instead auto-accepted.
@Bookwyrm
Thanks for reminding me. And I think it's a good balancing about the 5th captain.

To expand my line of thinking, if we believe player X to be a spy, I believe his (as captain's) whatever proposal will be nay'd by majority. So, conclusion is... Lets draw conlusions after the mission?

I just remembered something - didn't Leonard say that spies have no spy-chat? Meaning, they can only communicate in public and even though some people (myself included) are eager to discuss various resistance-winning strategies and possibilities, we actually should not do that now. As in, lets not feed the spies information. Unless given info is a lie (as per Brasas's saying "we should lie").

JMich: So, question to our 3 naysayers: Why did you vote no? Any particular reason, or just a "reject the first proposal" thing?
I was pretty elaborate I thought with my reasoning. Do you still want MORE from me on it? (I know some people just like to read my words because they're so compelling and well-articulated)

Correct. Spies do not have any sort of secret/private chat at any point during the game. Each spy knows the identity of every spy, but any communication between them must take place in the game thread.

Brasas: I haven't played that. Explaining the rules the better to stick the knife later? :)
While I don't remember the exact rules she tells you, the exchange ends as follows:
-You're lying, aren't you?
-That's the name of the game honey.

Brasas: PS: logically impossible suggestion there. If I was spy I'd have perfect info on all of you, not just JMich.
Not necessarily a logical impossibility, depend on whether "the rest of us" means the information you have on them, or the information they have on me.
Got no idea what you're talking about. I'm a professional calculated mafia player. Bulletproof Berzerker in free time. Know what I'm sayin'?

I didn't like the idea of the Captain on the team. While I understand why it's a good move for a Loyalist Captain, I also was scared by the thought of a Spy Captain able to get a cheap fail on a mission that seems like it should never fail anyway, and pawn it off on the other two players he picked.

We must never relent!
flub "knows a guy" ... reminds me of an old saying:

"know thyself"

don't sit too close, you'll singe your toe hairs! if he ever gets it started

flubbucket: Vitek and I are sitting on the patio watching Krypsyn attempt to burn his house down.

I told him I know a guy, but he insists on doing it himself.
Tsk tsk, he's going to drive the town pros out of business...

Lol, good one.

BTW, congrats on the new job flubb, Hope you are enjoying it.
Nobody greets the three returning horsemen, because no one knew they were gone. They dismount and remove packs which were empty when they left, but now hang heavy. It's probably nothing important, and the few who did spare them a glance return to their work.
A few hours later the wooden table is once again surrounded by people. The television comes alive with a crackle of static. A terse voice raps out,
"Mission report please, captain."
"Complete success sir. We managed to slip through a small blank area in their surveillance systems and entered the building. We managed to find spare uniforms in a supply room just down the corridor from our entrance point. It was easy to blend in with the human workers at the facility, which enabled the recovery of several important files on the project. After exiting the building we stumbled across a number of droids doing maintenance on the generators outside. We dispatched them and also critically damaged the radioactive shielding. Operations at the lab will have to be discontinued due to the excessive radiation."

Mission SUCCESSFUL

The LCD screen stays black for weeks. Schedules are changed so that the workshop is open 24 hours a day. Every bench pumping out a new wireless signal disrupters. It is on one of the new shifts, 12 am, that the nine members are called together. A familiar silhouette fills the screen.
"I'm sorry to call you together at this late hour, but we have a urgent mission. A supply shipment was just sighted not far from your location. It contains a large amount of materials we need badly. If you can capture it the contents would greatly help our war effort. Good luck."

@ Lift

JMich is right, I might have misread your meaning. I don't have more info on him than 5 more of "us". I have less info than 3 of "us".

@ all
Excellent news. :)
