Sign up thread for the first GOG Forum Mafia game of 2016. Happy New Year!

Anyone just happening on this thread can find out more about GOG Forum Mafia by visiting the Mafia Admin thread. It contains a brief description on the game, and many links to more information, in the first few posts.

Be advised that this particular game will NOT be usual.

-Usual: I will maintain the standard Day/Night cycle, where people converse during the Day, and the thread is closed for the Night as people PM me their Night Actions.

-Usual: The standard voting mechanic will be in effect. During the Day, each active player will have one vote, and one player will be lynched when a majority votes for that player. Players may instead vote No Lynch to end the Day without a lynch.

-There will be deadlines for the ending of each Day. There will be two polls for those that sign up, to determine how the players want to handle the deadlines. See the end of this post for the polls.

-Unusual: Normally Mafia games end in binary Win/Lose for the players. This particular game will feature a leader board at the end. Each player will have objectives to complete in order to score points, and point totals will be presented at the end. I will not be providing running counts of the scores during the game, but I will make clear at the start what each player needs to do in order to score points. Have fun with it!

Polls:
1) Poll Closed. I'll review the input of the players about deadline length, and make a decision. I'm currently leaning toward a 6 day limit for 1 Day, but this decision is not final quite yet. There will be 2 days for each Night.

2) Poll closed. Majority says that once you hit the Dead Thread, you're done. Sit back, relax, and leave witty comments for people to see post game.

1) 5 days at the most, I would suggest 4

2) If no consensus can be reached then a no lynch happens. Having the observer thread participate might be interesting but I could see issues arising from it. I would not like someone voting to lynch me that I have not had a chance to converse with.

Note: Each player will only be told how THEY score points. They will not be told the objectives of other players.

Everyone already knows Hijack's objective is to score. It's not exactly a big secret.

Question: How does one go about asking a Blue to change a thread title? It should be 34, not 24.

1. I'd after with trentonlf. 5 days for a Day seems to work well.

2. I really have no preference here. Either way should work.

This is actually game 24 - we're now recording all game numbers in base 15 in remembrance of 2015.

1) 4 seems good to me.

2) No lynch seems better to me.

1) Do think of how many players are, and in which side of the pond. 4 days with 15 people on both sides discussing is quite different from 5 days with 15 people on one side of the pond. I do prefer longer days, but your call.

2) No. Dead people shouldn't be able to influence the outcome of the day in any way. If we do want them to have something to do, give them a way to get additional points.
