not sure how I can prove I'm not scum, however. I give you my word? again - you seem to be trying to prove to us that you are not scum, as opposed to proving to us that you are town. Seems weird.

am i stretching for something? maybe - but as a townie, i've never felt like i've needed to prove anything, because i just am. Were you scared of being found out? Where does this fear come from? Do you still have this fear?

Most of the back and forth between Hyper and JMich has struck me as a pissing context. On this one, however, I agree with Hyper. I did revisit all of the posts JMich mentioned above. I agree that JMich misrepresented what adalia said. He referenced post #817 originally, based on post #817 it was a clear misrepresentation. I revisited the other posts JMich mentioned later, I still don't get JMich's conclusion when reading those posts in the context of when they where made and when I revealed.

The "almost" argument doesn't make sense to me either. That argument and the vote on Hyper feel like scum reacting to being pushed.

I also find it strange that adailia made no reply to JMich's post. Why not defend yourself from a misrepresentation? I'm starting to get the sense that these two are scum buddies. Adalia was quick to paint JMich as town and JMich may be trying to distance himself.

Right before dessimu was replaced I thought he was playing really hard for town. What I forgot to consider was that his play as scum has been better than his play as town. I'm not convinced dessimu/adalia is scum, but less certain he is town than before.

Did you also notice adaliabooks soft claimed when he said "if you lynch me today town loses", he then back pedaled when called on it and claimed town vanilla.

Then later JMich soft claims with this statement "Are you sure the "almost" part of post 477 only applies to the verified part, or could it apply to the other two adjectives (almost unlynchable, almost unkillable) as well? Or do you think I somehow knew about spectres being unkillable, and wish me to explain how I did so? And are you sure that's a good idea" I take this statement as he knew spectres were unkillable and it was not a good idea to go into it as it would reveal he was the last PR.

Whoever the last PR is should not be soft claiming at all, gives scum the game by doing so. It sounds like to me they are both fishing for the last PR.

First time a reply in this thread actually pinged me! And it is one where someone is trying to put me on the defensive, make me appear suspicious by having it as if I have something to hide!
Does it? Don't the two mean the same thing? How else would I be able to "prove" I'm not scum? Was it a subtle reference to me getting lynched? Not sure how it counts as "fear".

Sure it's all semantics. But I postulate this. Do you feel / sense a difference in these two hypothetical lines to my hypothetical girlfriend.

A) I'm faithful.
B) I'm not having an affair with your best friend.

The second one immediately comes up as - why even mention the affair or the best fried. Maybe something is going on.

Is it a skewed comparison? Sure I admit it's not a 100% fair, but most comparison are made to prove a point - not to be completely fair and interchangeable.

So again - and you don't even need to defend yourself. What is other's take. What reads as more scummy?

A) I'm town.
B) How can I prove that I'm not scum?

I still wonder why that question even comes up. It's like proving yourself to others. I don't need to prove that I'm good at ping pong because I am. I might need to prove that I'm over my ex, because I'm not so sure I am over my ex.

The problem, Babark, is you really aren't contributing anything of substance. Who do you suspect? Why? You have to have some opinion of someone here who might be playing a game and aren't as sincere as they seem. If you aren't scum, what is your gut feeling on who might be. The leading theory is that 3 out of the 10 people left (excluding our spectres) are scum. Just maybe, if we are lucky, only 2 given the lack of flips and no investigative powers.

What do you think of the dust-ups between HSL, Trent, Adalia, and JMich? Do you get the feeling any of them come off as made up to distance themselves from each other? Is there anyone in the game you think is trying to mislead us by either taking us off track or distracting us from someone else?

Not that it isn't fair, it isn't even accurate. Your scenario has a million and a half different "opposites" to A. In my scenario there is only one. If I'm not town, I'm scum. If I'm scum, I'm not town. It is the same thing. And I asked how I could prove I'm not scum because I was asked to prove I'm not scum. That is how that statement came up.
And in this situation, yes, nobody is presupposed to being town or not being scum. So you aren't town "just because you are and you don't need to prove it". You may very well be scum. How can you prove you aren't?

But I do. I've been (relatively) consistent in who I consider scum, and have said so in all my posts addressing the subject that weren't answers to people like this one. Check them out if you don't believe me. And those I consider scum have also been (relatively) consistent in the reason I consider them to be scum.

I'm not sure they're relevant. Lots of drama and misunderstanding and little substance. Nitpicking on tiny details, missing the forest for the trees- like the whole thing with "HOW DID HE KNOW THAT SPECTRE'S CAN'T BE KILLED?!"...I mean, I didn't think they could either, I didn't need clarification for that. I don't think HSL is scum because of THAT, but I don't think JMich is scum because of that either.

So going back, you think Trent and Drealmer? I know they have had a few disagreements, do you feel it can be both of them? Any idea who might be a 3rd? Or if not both, who would you suspect is on the respective teams with them?

It could be both of them. As I said, although others disagreed, they haven't seriously (as in in a way that they didn't later take back or in a way that they knew nobody else would latch on and the vote would be meaningless) voted each other, despite their incredible levels of displayed animosity.
I'm almost certain at least ONE of the two is scum. As for who is town, I really don't know. I don't think I could place anyone as definitely not being scum (except perhaps cristi, HijacK and Bookwyrm).

I don't think that original guess was right, and I wasn't too confident about it at the time.
