babark: I think you misread what I said. I said that "deviant behaviour that doesn't provide any (non-evil) benefit" would be considered suspect by my. I didn't say that their deviant behaviour had any evil benefit (that I had sussed out, at least), just that it was deviant behaviour, and it didn't have any non-evil benefit. It might have some evil benefit, probably does, but that wasn't my point.

[...]
I guess then you need to define "deviant" and "non-deviant" behaviour for me.

babark: [...]

Picked someone who may have provided some new information about a new situation rather than someone who probably said everything new they were going to say. But I realise that since spectres still have a vote, I guess in that regard the choice was right.

[...]
What new information on a new situation would HijacK be able to provide that Bookwyrm627 wouldn't? They've both died, and lost any abilities they may have had before, if you believe HijacK"s claim, he already said what he did N1, so...?

avatar
babark: [...]

You make it sound so insidious. Cristi is a spectre now- cannot be lynched, cannot be night-killed, cannot be harmed in any way, and can only be removed by the exorcist's choice. So if there was any new information that could be provided, what is so insidious about seeking it out?
Not thinking that it may well tell Scum how close to winning they are, thus allow them to strategise and plan accordingly, is what bothers me here. And yes, I didn't like how you followed the, otherwise fine, inquiry about any insights from her with that "were you something?".

avatar
a4plz: It doesn't make me look good, but I'm just going to Vote HijacK because I probably won't have time to deep-read the last few pages before the day ends.
[emphasis added]

I don't know which is worse - claiming that you've deep-read everything but the last few pages, yet had absolutely nth to comment on, or that you hammered HijacK, thus ending D2, and innocently proclaiming that you won't have time to continue your deep-reading before D2 ends.

I hope you realise that when you post in other threads it shows when you were on here, and says that you do devote time to the happenings of this forum. Nth against participating in other threads, it just makes me not buy your "lack of time" argument as a reason for staying away from this thread for days.

avatar
a4plz: See? Nothing interesting ever happens unless you take a few blind risks. Now we actually have something concrete to talk about.

Unvote HijacK
That's not how things work - rule #5 [emphasis added]:
[...] Once a player has more than 50% of the vote, they will be lynched and the game will go to Night. No amount of unvoting can prevent lynch once majority has been reached. [...]
Did you read the rules? Do you understand how the game works? In post #725 you say that you do understand. You also know that nth that's been discussed will probably make a difference to you. Without actually reading any of it. Because nth you’ve read so far caught your attention. Even though you practice deep-reading.
Well then, that would mean that you deliberately and consciously ended the D2 early.

So, which is it – do you understand how the game works, or not?

avatar
a4plz: Not like it matters now, but who did you choose to protect on the first night?
Care to explain why it doesn't matter now?

avatar
yogsloth: Both.

I feel like ap's near-panicked fence-sitting is far more of a scum tell than "BLUUUUUUAAAAAAAAAARRGHHHHHHH!!!!!"

But like I said... the "no flip" mechanic is... depressing.
I'm having a little trouble reconciling that you don't find him scummy, and at the same time find him scummy but others scummier than him.

I didn't say I found drealmer scummy. Did I say that? To be honest, I can't find anything in those walls of white noise. It' tomorrow's problem.

What I am doing is going one step at a time as I'm late to the party. I'm pretty duty-bound to stay plugged in as much as possible from here on out as I'm needed, but the first step is taking my best shot at my top scum pick.

I also found it a bit of an odd post. Pinged me slightly. I also know it is impossible to tell why CSPVG left, but I find it more likekly that CSPVG would want a replacement if he was Evil or a PR and something came up vs. regular vanilla Good, because if he was regular vanilla Good I think he'd be like "ehhh, so I'll lurk, just like everyone else, and if I get lynched, oh well" whereas if Evil or a PR he'd be more likely to say "damn, I just can't do my role/+team justice, especially if I'm lurking, and HijacK just got lynched for lurking, so I better ask for a replacement."

conclusion:

yogsloth is either Evil or PR, or not.

Well, my question was if you don't want drealmer7 Today because you don't find him scummy, or because you find others scummier than him, which means you do find him scummy but not as much as others.

And you replied "Both".

avatar
flubbucket: Seeing his inevitable lynch, I wonder if HijacK would relish being able to rub in our faces the lynch of the herbalist?? A plan to call out the real herbalist is possible....but I have doubts. HijacK was all but lynched. Would the real herbalist jump up and expose themselves in order to ensure HijacK was lynched??

[...]
While the real Herbalist would indeed have nor reason to come forward if HijacK false-claimed, given that his claim came after he had already been hammered, do you discard the possibility that he only pretended to believe he was still on L-1?

avatar
flubbucket: [...]

I would assume cristigale would be a choice next Night Phase instead of last night....but that's a moot point.
I'd still like to hear why you thought that more likely, and who you expected to be the N2 NK and why.

And I'm still waiting for this.

Is that mutually exclusive?

I don't find him particularly scummy from just what I've read, and I find others scummier than him.

Where's the contradiction?

But I mean, dudebro, brah, brosef, totes broeander, vote me or vote him or do something else, you know?
Sooooo, it's 12:42am here and I've just come back in from work.

I haven't the time or inclination to fully read the thread but from what I've skimmed I'm pretty happy where my vote is for now.
I could definitely see moving it to flub either but I think drealmer's wagon is more likely to roll.
He's done nothing to dissuade me from thinking he was HijacK's buddy and that his actions at the end of day 2 were an attempt to prevent his lynch.

Anyway, will read everything tomorrow and reply to anything that needs it then.

What actions at the end of D2 were me attempting to prevent his lynch? Sharing my thoughts on why I didn't think we should lynch him? Being upset that I think we made the wrong choice? Being upset that we didn't even get to discuss among the majority of us what we thought about his potential lynch before he actually got lynched? Something else? How is any of that indicative of scum, anyway? You really think I'd have so blatantly voiced my disdain with his wagon, voters, and lynch if we were scum buddies? Sure, lots of WIFOM, but with how I'd been being viewed (lumped with HijacK by trent since the very beginning, essentially), the reasons I've given, and how it all has gone, you really think it is really 'SO CLEAR and obvious?' ?????????? You either actually think I'm a stupid player, or are scum, or have horrible judgement, or maybe all 3!

What has you thinking flub is scummy? (I think it more likely that you think another PR is hidden with me or flub and are aiming for that.) Posts and reasons, please.

I don't "discard" the possibility, however I see his distracted posting to be an indication of halfway paying attention.

My statement was clearly pointing to the "spectre" mechanic. I have no idea or intuition regarding cristigale.

I've really not given trentonlf the attention I intended.....others seem more likely to be scum.

Don't worry, I'm already 98% certain who two of the PRs are (and if I were scum they'd both be dead by now).

Do you want to know how I know you and flub are scum?

*whispers*

Mana told me :P

Really off to bed now. Will properly lay out my arguments in the morning (if town hasn't all seen sense and lynched one of you by then).
Night!

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHH
Ugh, can I just be honest? This game turned out to be a bigger timesink than I'm willing to commit to. I came in expecting something like the fast-paced #werewolf games I used to play in IRC networks, but the analysis in here is so text-heavy that I've been avoiding this thread like a pile of dishes. I literally don't have the mental capacity to read everything and offer useful commentary at the same time.

Sorry guys, I really tried. I'll chat up agentcarr to let him arrange a replacement. Good scum-hunting to you all.

I'm sorry to see you leave, hope you enjoyed the little time you did play.

Gee, it would have been nice if you would have realized that before blindly blazing in and killing someone. Liiiike maybbe that 1st day of the 1st Day when you didn't even bother to read the rules and then showed you didn't care to understand what was going on/how the game is played. When did it hit you that it wasn't like a quick werewolf game, before or after hammering HijacK? 2 weeks prior?

smh...apology NOT accepted

I bet you are!

oh and I did a re-read of dessimu, combined with pretty much everything adalia has said and done since replacing him, there's enough to warrant this:

No worries. I know Forum Mafia isn't everyone's cup of tea. And fortunately I've got a replacement for you.

As of now RWarehall is replacing a4plz.

Once again, you are wrong. I'm starting to think you like being wrong as often as you are.
