When I read this in the op: "Flips will not be complete. They may not reveal much at all, in fact" it led me to believe there would be some information given. There's a difference between flips will not be complete or not much at all and flips will give you nothing.

HypersomniacLive: I'm really curious as to what exactly in the OP led you to assume that we'd be getting alignment flips.
I'd chalk it up to my first game without full flips being the werewolf one, where alignment was revealed on death, but not role. So my default instinct when I read partial flips is to assume we'll be learning alignment. And also what trent said.

My plan? I didn't really have a plan for drealmer7's wagon, I think I made clear what bothered me with it.
The odds of giving in to the desire to see how Lynch-reveals are handled, and resisting it, were equal.
I will admit that I was more tempted to put him on L-1 myself to see if you'd hammer him.

Dessimu: @HijacK - people want to hear your super awesome ideas. Otherwise you will end up as a dummy for target practice. You can just as well say that you don't give much of...attention to the game for whatever reason, that would at least shine some light. But really, it's not about you participating more, it's about you participating in a way more quality way. Qualified... What's the right word here?
Am busy moving out right now. I'm expecting people to understand my situation, but I won't give them the satisfaction of playing this tug of war "I'm out of ideas so let's hear YOURS!" game. Meh, will come with something substantial once I am not under the pressure of moving out by today and then checking out and yada yada.
You're more than welcome.
Anyway, soooo, basically the Exorcist's (can we call him a Witcher?) only value is getting rid of unwanted perma votes or dead scum votes. Welp, I guess it will have to do.
@drealmer: Are you roleplaying again in post #449? I'm trying to read it, but some paragraphs have me confused in regards to your tonality. And which scenario do you find most plausible again?
a4plz: Can we discuss ways to make the posts in this thread more concise? I don't know if this is normal banter for a Mafia game but merciful christ, I can feel the water evaporating off my eyeballs on some pages.
^This. You're like my new favorite person on the internet right now.
Dessimu: 0 Evil - you are most likely scum. Your scum buddies did not vote you. Townies were not convinced entirely about lynching you and No-Lynch happened.
1 Evil - you yourself may be scum. Your one buddy is on the wagon, so that if you get lynched, he/she gets a bit of slack and Town points.
2 Evil - you are Town.
3 Evil - you are Town.
From my perspective, you are something - either Good or Evil. Your current situation strongly suggests you are evil:
- your discussion about No-Lynch was with the idea that it is good. If you are scum, this makes perfect sense - you eliminate hazard of one of scum being lynched. Add to that:
- your wagon did not go through. You were an easy target. If you are Good, then scum could have made a bigger effort, get you lynched and gotten away with it. Just because your behavior was scummy. At least 2 players on your wagon are Town and we voted you because we believed you to be scum.
- in your "egg" analysis you completely disregard the options that in some cases you look like scum. Sure, Town player has no point in saying "Hey! I might be scum", but still - being as thorough as you are, you could have mentioned the Evil points.

Can you elaborate on this at all rather than just repeat it over and over as if it is obvious undeniable fact (because it's not)? What actions and behavior were anti-town, and how was it anti-town. If you talk to me about it, maybe we can understand each other better, as I'm certainly not wanting to be anti-town. Let me see your point of view, with logic to back it up (rather than an irrational fear of no-lynch, which you seem to harbor for some unreasonable reason.)
Also, it's important to realize that was a basic theorizing post. I wasn't responding to anyone or talking about other ideas that others have posed. Posts can get a LOT longer than that! Just giving you some warning! Hopefully you can bear it. Also know that I have been working on being more concise (hey wyrm, noticed! thanks for the encouragement! I do feel I've improved a bit, and will probably get better as games go on), and it is not my goal to cause strain to others.
Do you have anything to say about the content of what I said??
This, trent. I'm not going to harp on it, obviously others noticed, whether they pointed it out outloud or not. It's like you're so convinced I'm Evil you have no ability to see beyond your own blindness. Not townie at all. If I didn't have such a horrible history of mis-reading you or think there's a potentiality that you just don't get it (my PoV), you'd have my vote in a heartbeat. Problem is, I can't be sure that your logic is genuinely failing
...
It makes no sense for me to talk about "if I'm Evil" points, because I know I'm not. Yes, the rest of you have to consider that, obviously, but for me to do it would have been a waste of my time and thoughts because I know I'm Good and I'm trying to figure out who is Evil. Trying to figure out how things would go if I were Evil is a waste of my time. The rest of you should be on that angle and watching me, of course, and I'm glad you are, dess.
Maybe I missed you saying so previously, but does the quoting not work for your for some reason (I see you do it sometimes) ? Can we somehow help you fix it or figure it out? I've been tolerating it and simply been satisfied that you are participating at all in past games, but, I'm kind of fed up with it. You've got many posts from many pages of many players and it is simply a pain in the ass and a waste of time to go dig out what the hell you are referring to (from a game-day ago, at that) and I'd appreciate it if you'd use the quote system. How would you like if every player started posting the way you do? Would you even be able to participate? I'm an active player and I still have 50+ posts to go over and read and potentially respond to, I can't imagine how people with less time to participate are handling your quoting inabilities. So, again, what can we do to help you multi-quote?
I'm guessing it is the quoting system messing you up. Go into another thread and muss with it to try and figure it out (the admin thread is probably a good place.) Everyone {quote_#} must have an {/quote} to close it, and using multiples gets a LITTLE tricky to figure out, but once figured, is pretty easy to do. Note: in order to effectively multi-quote you have to copy, reply, paste, and go through the quoting process again. We will work with you to help you figure it out. If this is not the issue, hmmmm, but it most probably is.
truncation, please bump
a4plz: Can we discuss ways to make the posts in this thread more concise? I don't know if this is normal banter for a Mafia game but merciful christ, I can feel the water evaporating off my eyeballs on some pages.
That was only like 4 paragraphs. That's nothing, if I'd had 2 hours to work on the post instead of 30 minutes, it would have probably been 4 times longer. This is why it is highly advised to look at previous games or observe a game before participating, so you know what you're (at least somewhat) getting into. This forum mafia group posts MUCH LESS than other mafia places, I've come to realize. Be glad bler and yogs are not also in this game! Can I ask, how long did it take you to read that post of mine? Was it really that long? :| Also, it's important to realize that was a basic theorizing post. I wasn't responding to anyone or talking about other ideas that others have posed. Posts can get a LOT longer than that! Just giving you some warning! Hopefully you can bear it. Do you have anything to say about the content of what I said??
Dessimu: Deary, dear, please, do enable "involved player" mode. Playing is fun! I am just giving an advice that as a new player around here, you should get somewhat more involved. That way and that way only you will learn some more about the game and grow to want to play again. As much as others will appreciate you more.
Yep, this! Come play with us! We'll be gentle for your first time! (well some of us!) ^ This, trent. I'm not going to harp on it, obviously others noticed, whether they pointed it out outloud or not. It's like you're so convinced I'm Evil you have no ability to see beyond your own blindness. Not townie at all. Problem is, I can't be sure that your logic is genuinely failing
...
Dessimu: Would it not be a smart thing then to re-read Bookwyrm's posts and see why he got unwanted attention? I know that in games where I was scum, I would try to target a player, posing biggest threats to me/mafia team. While determining, who this player is, I would look at who are his/her suspects. I would look if this player has a strong justified opinion that if turned against me/mafia team, would cause trouble. So, I believe, there must be something Bookwyrm said, that made him a target for the Night.
Yes, very smart to re-read bookwyrm and see what he might have been onto, but without having to do a re-read I know that for me, wyrm was ringing more true as a townie than he has in any previous game, and was at the absolute bottom of my suspect list (leaning town HARD, not really even a "suspect" other than the fact that I didn't *know*.) ... Dessimu: - in addition to your wagon analysis, analyze Bookwyrm's posts. @Bookwyrm - you do the same.
Everyone should do the same, but I think he should be less of a focus than the 5 on my wagon, still.
Dessimu: Tomorrow morning most likely I am traveling to Denmark, that makes me absent in here for 1 or 2 full RL days. And then there is no telling if I will have time and ways to be contributing later on. So instead of making trouble for Town, I will ask agentcarr16 to be replaced.
Really? I don't find this necessary at all, and actually quite not-cool. You've contributed more in a single post than half of the players have in the entirety of their posts. I think we can be okay losing your involvement for a couple days and be better off with you staying in than having a new player. Of course, this is up to you and the mod to work out, but I think it's a bad idea to sub. I'd be happier with subs for the lurkers coming in. I'm so gd sick of all these lurkers. I'm here busting my ass, taking practically all of the heat trying to find Evil and everyone is off pleasuring their thumbs and enjoying the show (or not enjoying it, but doing nothing else to help or change it.) Maybe I missed you saying so previously, but does the quoting not work for your for some reason (I see you do it sometimes) ? Can we somehow help you fix it or figure it out? I've been tolerating it and simply been satisfied that you are participating at all in past games, but, I'm kind of fed up with it. Don't follow. I was not convinced of drealmer7's scumminess; he's perfectly capable of painting himself in that corner even when he's Town. He was low hanging fruit, and, with no flips, his lynch would have told us what exactly?
Does not mean that I discard the case he's exploiting this to his advantage as Scum this game.

thanks HSL, even if unintentional
How does that "give scum the advantage" even in the slighest. D2 we are down 1 townie, not 2, and...ugh, I've been over it multiple times...
And, why are you so sure I'm scum, again? With quotes and reasons, please!
I'm seeing more and more potential for HSL and trent to be scum-buddies, going for the win by seeming to play against each other and 1 of them (HSL) winning serious enough town points to survive until the end. Not saying this is solidly evidenced or highly likely at this point, but it is something to keep in mind when analyzing everything.
Are you fucking kidding me? I just did ALL OF THAT *points above*, and you can't be bothered to link wtf you are referring to when you ask me something(you seemed fine with other quotes in your post.) I'm not going to help you (or other lurkers) DO LESS. Make a better effort, HijacK, or ask for a sub, and in the future don't sign up for games where your participation lacks this much into the thick of D2, I'll give noobs a bit more slack, but from you, GET IN THE GAME ALREADY. Thanks.
trentonlf: ...Day 1 ended with a no lynch giving scum the advantage and we get to start Day 2 in the same position we were on Day 1. Drealmer got his wish for a no lynch and I see it as scum manipulating the situation. So Drealmer to me is scum and no long winded post of his is going to change my mind.
Again, can you please lay out your logic for us? You behave as if I was the SOLE person responsible for no-lynch on D1. I suppose you would have liked me to vote myself and argued for my own lynch? What about the SEVEN OTHER PEOPLE who weren't on the only active wagon? Your bilnd "kill anyone as long as someone dies" mentality is very very anti-town. How does that "give scum the advantage" even in the slighest. D2 we are down 1 townie, not 2, and...ugh, I've been over it multiple times...
And, why are you so sure I'm scum, again? With quotes and reasons, please!

trentonlf: I read drealmer' post and it's exactly what I thought it would be. He tries to make the no lynch seem like a good play for town, it was not. He then wants us to believe he's town and his wagon was full of scum and that's why he didn't get lynched since scum could not finish him off. I see it as scum didn't want to lose one of their players on Day 1 so they didn't get on his wagon or if they did it was at the end when it was obvious the lynch was not going to happen.
So there was no enlightening gleaned from reading what drealmer had to say other than to reinforce to me that he's scum.
No it's not at all what you said. Annnnnd, again, you're completely mis-representing pretty much everything I said and did. This post is so full of holes, I just can't grasp the logic behind your making of posts like this, if roles weren't revealed I'd be wary of you being suicidal. Again, I suppose you would have liked me to vote myself and push my own wagon and the SEVEN OTHER PEOPLE who were satisfied with a no-lynch over my lynch all get a free pass from your scrutiny? Again, this pings my funny feeling hard, like you're strategizing to clear a scum-buddy who eventually makes a case against you. So there was no enlightening gleaned from reading what drealmer had to say other than to reinforce to me that he's scum.
HypersomniacLive: And I'd also like everyone else to say what they expected about reveals when they read the OP.
I dislike the word "expect", but what I "figured" from the OP (though was open to being wrong) was that there would be no information on flips, but that agent wanted to word it in a way that wasn't 100% confirming that there would be no information to leave it ambiguous enough for us to work it out on our own. I would have been surprised if there'd be information in the flip (other than that the person died of course!) Are you fucking kidding me? I just did ALL OF THAT *points above*, and you can't be bothered to link wtf you are referring to when you ask me something(you seemed fine with other quotes in your post.) drealmer7: [...]
Now, we must begin the task again of trying to root out the Evil. Where do we look? To me it seems obvious where to start, though Evil will probably try to convince you all otherwise. Evil was trying to get me killed, as I seemed to have been the easiest target. They were desperate to do it, for sure, but were they desperate enough to have put all of their Bad Eggs into one basket? Impossible to say, but I think what does make sense is that at least there was 1 bad egg in the basket, so:
Let us look at each individual egg that was in the basket, and try to discern whether they were True Evil, or simply misguided Good.
drealmer7 - 5 - babark, flubbucket, trentonlf, Dessimu, cristigale
I find this to be a MUCH MORE valuable wagon with 5 on it with a no-lynch than 7 with a lynch would have been. By a LOT! Why? Well first and foremost, D2 we're only down 1 townie, not 2, and that is HUGE. Of course, you have to believe I'm town to agree with that advantage, but the Truth remains the same, and pretty much everything I can say would be WIFOMed to hell and back, so, if there's anything anyone wants me to address, I'll gladly address it. Second, because it narrows (in my view) the pool of lynch possibilities for D2 down A LOT. Today I am simply looking at 5/11 players, that's pretty damn good odds opposed to normal. I urge the rest of townies to focus on these 5 as well.
On my wagon, the 4 possibilities, and their likelihoods (I'd like feedback and more thoughts around this, as I'm sure I probably didn't cover all angles and aspects, especially since I'm doing this kind of fast. I could spend the next 24 hours tweaking this to better logic and articulation, but I think it is best to get it out there so we can all start talking about it) :
0 Evil - [...]
1 Evil - 2 not on my wagon, [...]
2 Evil - 1 not on my wagon. [...]
3 Evil - All on my wagon, [...]
Okay, yes yes, I know that that's not all thought out as good as it could be, and it's possible Evil is going to try to make me look bad for posing theories that don't cover EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE SCENARIO, but, that's where I'm at on a quickly-thought-out analysis and I think is THE place to start all of the discussion for D2. Sorry I'm not of yogsloth's skill-level to have it so intricately broken down and presented for you all, but I'm getting there!
Of course, I'm open to discussing other things if people want, but this is what makes most sense to me to focus on.

[...] this is what makes most sense to me to focus on.
You also said [emphasis added]
Let us look at each individual egg that was in the basket, and try to discern whether they were True Evil, or simply misguided Good.
But nth in your post does any of this. I'd also like to remind you of your statements on various occasions that you write up things when you're not on here, then present them in the thread (IIRC, there's evidence of this in the Scum QT of the the all-Mafia game), so your "kind of fast" and "quickly-thought-out analysis" don't really weigh in for me.
While I don't agree with Dessimu that you should have included the "I'm Scum" cases, after all your goal is to convince us that you're Town, he did provide that perspective which I still take into account.

HypersomniacLive: I don't see what distinction you want to make here. Elaborate? Preferably before D2 ends.
Do I actually have to answer that? smh. You act as if a dead townie's judgement is infallible and couldn't make a mistake, like placing a vote on one of the 3 good roles. That, right there, is a vote you don't want on one of those townies. Let's assume we suck at lynching scum, like hella bad. And boom, we reach a stage where scum are like, 1 less than majority vote. You wouldn't want that vote on your good role, would you? Except if... you were scum...
Are you HSL?
@drealmer: "Are you fucking kidding me?"
No.
"Thanks."
No.
No.
