Can we discuss ways to make the posts in this thread more concise? I don't know if this is normal banter for a Mafia game but merciful christ, I can feel the water evaporating off my eyeballs on some pages.

I love the mechanics, it is so interesting! Few times did I think how would it look if dead player was still allowed to post in the game, but I always imagined him/her to be a tree stump in this matter. This way is much cooler!

@seasoned players: has there been a game already like this created?

That way and that way only you will learn some more about the game and grow to want to play again. As much as others will appreciate you more.

Sure, this is always a matter of an opinion and given that we learned mechanics instead of alignments from the one flip, you may be just as convinced drealmer7 to be scum, as you were D2. But I must say, that if you vote drealmer7 just because you hold some grudge on him, don't like him or because you made him your target like aiming with a sniper rifle...it is casting doubts about yourself and it is not pro-Town way to act.

The underlined part seems like a very one-way statement. First impression I got was that you congratulate scum as if No-Lynch was achieved by scum's effort. Why would you sound so sure then?

I probably should not almost answer my own questions, but I have limited time to participate in game.

See, I think that No-Lynch benefits scum only by removing a chance for one of them to be killed. While this is very important, No-Lynch also does not help them achieve their own winning condition. So, in my opinion, it is in their better interest to achieve a lynch and do whatever they can for that lynch to be on townie.

Also, drealmer7 posting a long post may just as well mean what "fun" is for drealmer7 - analysis. Be it justified or confusing.

Now for drealmer7... Good vs Evil talk sounds a bit exaggerated, though it does add some more emotion than plain talk about mechanics or wagons, etc. I am still skeptic about such a talk, because it may just as well be a psychological manipulation into treating you as Good when you may not be. But nothing major here.

Would it not be a smart thing then to re-read Bookwyrm's posts and see why he got unwanted attention? I know that in games where I was scum, I would try to target a player, posing biggest threats to me/mafia team. While determining, who this player is, I would look at who are his/her suspects. I would look if this player has a strong justified opinion that if turned against me/mafia team, would cause trouble. So, I believe, there must be something Bookwyrm said, that made him a target for the Night.

In other words - in addition to your wagon analysis, analyze Bookwyrm's posts. @Bookwyrm - you do the same.

Good place to start. But I will be first adding "different angles" to your post.

0 Evil - you are most likely scum. Your scum buddies did not vote you. Townies were not convinced entirely about lynching you and No-Lynch happened.

1 Evil - you yourself may be scum. Your one buddy is on the wagon, so that if you get lynched, he/she gets a bit of slack and Town points.

2 Evil - you are Town.

3 Evil - you are Town.

From my perspective, you are something - either Good or Evil. Your current situation strongly suggests you are evil:
- your discussion about No-Lynch was with the idea that it is good. If you are scum, this makes perfect sense - you eliminate hazard of one of scum being lynched. Add to that:
- your wagon did not go through. You were an easy target. If you are Good, then scum could have made a bigger effort, get you lynched and gotten away with it. Just because your behavior was scummy. At least 2 players on your wagon are Town and we voted you because we believed you to be scum.
- in your "egg" analysis you completely disregard the options that in some cases you look like scum. Sure, Town player has no point in saying "Hey! I might be scum", but still - being as thorough as you are, you could have mentioned the Evil points.

I've given you the benefit of the doubt up until this point, but challenging someone on something they did not actually post (even if you think it to be the sort of argument they'd likely put forward), blatantly declaring that you did not actually read their post, and then voting for them is pretty scummy behaviour.

I'm going to have to vote for you if this sort of thing persists.

#451 - a4plz - This is usual play for drealmer. He usually runs long. Besides, long posts are the norm in most Forum Mafia games I've seen (although, of course, not every player posts exclusively long posts).

I did not like this one bit. You yourself ask people many questions and feel irritated when they don't answer. Now I ask for nothing more than your opinion on trentonlf and all you did - was avoiding answering and even painting me as scum. This is evil.

In addition to that, you just made trentonlf look scummy as well. You made him look like your accomplice which means, you two could again be scum buddies.

That ^ said, I looked through your posts and the whole game you seemed to go rather well with trentonlf. Both in discussing targets, distinguishing what does/does not define lynches, nightkills. And tampering further with the idea of you two being scum buddies, post #351 gets another meaning. Specifically, the part, where you ask Bookwyrm about trentonlf and flubbucket:

"What do you consider as "more contributory" from those two? What would persuade you to consider lynching them, and why?"

What looks like scum-hunting and forming your opinion on the first glance, now can be interpreted that you wanted to know, what scummy vibes does trentonlf give away.

I sure do not know you very well. And I remember that game where you, trentonlf, cristigale were Mafia. At one point I called you out as scum and people all over, both in game and in observer's thread said that I "described Town-HSL to a teeth". Apparently, they were wrong and I did not know better.

I won't lie, I have my suspicions. You questioned drealmer7 rather hard. And then you just do not vote him, avoid having anything to do with him. Then what is the point in your questioning? Are you scum-hunting, or are you scum-painting?

Other players, who did not vote drealmer7 or jump/make another wagon, at least expressed their opinions of who is scum in a matter of voting. You did not. You just stood away from the action.

When speaking about Bookwyrm, lets not forget, he voted JMich and suspected trentonlf and flubbucket. Also, HijacK. One of them could very well be scum, who wanted to get possible heat off.

I thought of it as WIFOM at first too and wanted to attack drealmer7 as to why does he sound so sure Bookwyrm is Good. But then writing word "scum", I realized that Bookwyrm was nightkilled, not lynched. Mafia has no power roles as per OP. Town does not have killing power roles (killing a ghost does not count). So, Mafia should not have known that dead players come as ghosts in the game, thus they would not have killed one of their own. Means Bookwyrm is Town. What I would NOT like to know, if he had any role.

I could very well be wrong with my thoughts on HypersomniacLive, but trentonlf is suspicious. For the moment I would want to hear back from HypersomniacLive, some more from drealmer7, anything more from Bookwyrm. And if I had to vote, I'd go for trentonlf now. His latest vote out of the blue is awkward in an anti-Town way.

My congratulations to scum was a frustration post as was my post to Drealmer. There is absolutely no chance town can win this game if we don't lynch anyone. So Day 1 ended with a no lynch giving scum the advantage and we get to start Day 2 in the same position we were on Day 1. Drealmer got his wish for a no lynch and I see it as scum manipulating the situation. So Drealmer to me is scum and no long winded post of his is going to change my mind.

I also have no grudge against Drealmer or dislike him, I simply think he is scum and will treat him as such. This is a game not a personal vendetta.

I actually found this long post by Drealmer to be quite a bit more coherent than some of his previous long posts. I'm glad to see improvement in that area and would like to add some encouragement in that direction.

I don't even need to reread my posts to be able to tell you that they were full of awesome and clearly posed a major threat to scum, even this one.
