drealmer7: There you go being all twisty. It clearly says "him/scum" and I'm sure you knew what I meant even if I didn't type out "him if he is scum" because that is what is logical and you are a smart enough player to know what all the implications of that mean (that if I'm town I don't likely have any information about another player at this point/know about my relation to him, if there is any, if he's town or not, etc., blah blah blah), and now you're just pinging scum-dar harder because it feels like you're fishing for things to twist and to get me to blab on about to try and get me in trouble

Though of course, I know you just like to poke and prod buttons sooo, not a huge scum-dark ping for me, but, more than anything else in the game so far (from anyone, not just you.)
[emphasis added]

Harder, eh? So much for not having enough sufficient information yet just a few posts earlier.

I is kind, I is Good.

Logical is also that you may be scum, so know who are and who aren't your scum-buddies, and slipped or tried to distance yourself from Bookwyrm627. Taking these cases into account is not twisting your words.

As for the blabbing on - sorry, that's always all your doing.

CSPVG: #69 - Dessi - Must you vote and unvote in nearly every post? This vote hopping is starting to make my head spin (plus, it makes me think that you're scummy).
I can only do less of that when it is absolutely necessary.

HypersomniacLive: Are you at all familiar with forum mafia, and how roles work? If the answer is no, I suggest you go and read up this before saying anything else, any answer to this post included.
I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I've been in a game where a new player made all sorts of innocent newbie questions and suggestions, and got a free pass from everyone; he turned out to be a skilful, manipulative member of the mafia team.

a4plz: Oh come on, these games aren't as fun if you consume all the meta-theory before you're even initiated. I know the basic rules & roles at least.
As a whole, we are pretty lenient with new players, they often make mistakes. I certainly did in my first game.

So far a4plz has soft-claimed vanilla and suggested that the PR's claim. Did he/she read the rules for this game? HSL's suggestion, that a4plz read more before contributing more, might have come off with a harsh tone, but a4plz's responses concerns me.

@a4plz You are either a novice (there's nothing wrong with that, we all were at one time) or your statements are scummy (or both). Which way should we read them? We encourage new players to read at least some of that information so that misunderstandings, like this, do not happen.

HypersomniacLive: Liar, I've asked for a pair in your size, but you refused to sell me one.
I can't sell you what I don't have in stock!

avatar
drealmer7: Nope, I can't attest to wyrm's alignment, of course, but I'm certainly not related to him/scum at all.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: So... if you're Good/Town and he's Good/Town, you're certainly still not related to him at all?
Okay, okay, you caught us. He's my father.

riiiiiight

as wyrm has said, you've broken us! you've caught us! he is my son! *sarcasm*

but umm, yeah, no
Hello. I am just saying hello. I will read everything that has transpired before posting further. I will wait at least 10 minutes before my next post. This has little to nothing to do with the game as far as my allegiance, just confirming that I am active and didn't mean to delay anything. Enough with this disclaimer. Looking forward to a great game.

Ok. So flubbucket voted for me. then unvoted when i at least said hello. but did so perhaps too hastily.

Dessimu voted then unvoted for me to get my attention. seemed innocent enough. but then later: "How about we just follow yogsloth's STU idea and lynch lotsofchickenwings and thus, disprove (or approve?) my unspoken theory, that in this game, all three new players form the scum team?

Unvote drealmer7
Vote lotsofchickenwings "

How convenient, Dessimu.

HSL has been on my ass since the beginning and I don't think it's because of all the zucchini muffins I've been shitting.

Now - to simply vote for one of these to be scum would just be reactionary, I'm simply collecting the facts and starting from somewhere. That being said, Dessimu's actions seem the most shady and sporadic like he is too eager to get someone lynched. Therefore:

#html is my specialty.

Without personal PC for weekday, occasionally can check on phone on lunch. I plan to check all nights and most mornings. I appreciate the welcome from everyone and the rage in my delay in posting. And while I rarely respond/take action just to appease another - these chicken wings are for you, yogsloth.

Also - going on record to say i like Bookwyrm627 logic of "Who is going to be investigating anything at this point?
-The doctor doesn't investigate, he tries to prevent NK's (night kills, scum's single night action).
-The coroner has no dead bodies to investigate (yet; we'll likely have one for him before N1 (night 1)).
-The third PR might not have any sort of investigation at all. Maybe their night action is to send fruit to another player. Maybe they are lynch proof (a passive ability). Maybe they send out flying monkeys to steal a dog from another thread.

The problem with outing any/all of the town PR's right now is that it means Scum know exactly who to kill in order to win, and we have basically no chance of stopping them. We'd effectively be on a timer, and we'd have to lynch scum every single day in order to win before they kill us. As long as the scum don't know who they need to kill to win, they may target townies that don't advance their win condition. "

Obviously, could be throwing logic in the guise of helping the townspeople thing. But i like the thinking.

*gives you bump* (making a post before your 10 mins are up so you can post without there being a merge, if you are in need of it)
So, the only person who can reliably tell us the flip results is the Undertaker / Coroner, but we can't reveal who that is without making them a target. However we do have a Herbalist / Doctor who can anonymously protect the coroner for as long as necessary, if we were to identify him today. Does anyone else support this as an early strategy?

No, trying to figure out who has the power roles is just doing scum's work for them. No need for town to figure out who the power roles are. What would be the point? We can give advice to what we think those holding the role should do, but even then that gives scum insight into how to counter-strategize, and it is generally best to let the player who has the role decide how it is best to play it.

If we identified the herbalist, then they'd be the target so they can't do more protecting.
Official Rules Edit

I just reread the description on Mafiscum.net and realized that the Doctor is not Normal. I had misread. Apologies. XD

In fact, the Doctor IS allowed to self-target, but is NOT allowed to protect the same player on consecutive nights.
