Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to sign up thread for a new game of mafia.

You can post here and join the upcoming game.

In case you don't know what is forum mafia and are interested in learning it, please visit <span class="podkreslenie"><span class="bold">this</span></span> thread and read the first post, which explains most of things and offers links to additional info, like <span class="bold">this interesting tutorial</span> (other useful links are now in post no. 4 of said thread).

The game is fairly easy to learn and I will wait some time (several days) before I start this game, so if you don't know anything about this game, you have a lot of time to become familiar with basic rules.

There will be 12 players and the game is not stretchable.

Please note that this game requires relatively high level of commitment and every player should post regularly. Otherwise the game will stagnate and becomes boring for everyone.
The game can last for some time and you should only sign up if you willing to commit yourself to it.
I will be very strict about posting rules and I won't shy to replace or remove player from game if he/she is unable to comply with them.

You may also sign up as replacement or as observer here, but obviously you can't be both player and replacement.

IDK, I've only read a few mafiascum games, but at least from that small sample I get the sense they're more hardcore about it. I think the main challenges here:

1) Pace. Games here are marathons, generally, not sprints. My first game I drew a cop role (WTF is a parity cop?!?) teased it, and was all but ready to claim in the first two hours. Even reading a game one may not get an appreciation that the typical D1 alone is anywhere from 4-10 calendar days.

It's beyond tantric.

2) Cultural quirks. E.g. newbies are pretty much obligated to propose "no lynch" when they don't know who to vote for on D1, because blindly killing town just seems dumb.

Veterans are obligated to then respond and tell said newbie that it's a horrible idea at great length and with much finger-wagging, whether or not they actually agree with the collective wisdom.


Edit - And I guess the third thing to be gained from observing is learning the various personalities/playstyles involved. Is it odd flub is lurking? No. Does that make him town or scum? IDK - Probably one or the other.
