dedoporno: @mods, do we get to know who succeeded
Yes. Each shot attempt will be resolved by a moderator ASAP. If multiple attempts are resolved in the same post, each player's should be shown. At the very least, the identity of the successful shooter will be identified (which, by process of elimination, results int he same information).

cristigale: Santa is suppose to be merry, not mischeivious. ;-)

@Lifrt - it might be a combination of the two options. A absolute majority is preferable, but may not not always be attainable. If majority is not reached, whoever has the most votes should probably be next. We might have two or more players with the most votes. In that case, it's probably fair to alternate shots between those players.

I agree that shooting without voting would be bad for town.

Heh ;-)
No flavor?! What am I going to ramble about?!

how boring! I might as well just shoot myself...

What's the matter? Don't know how to conceal your scumminess?
Interesting - couple rules I hadn't expected, particularly the "mod gun" rule.

I'd been thinking the best strategy for town was to take it slow, since there would be no penalty for reaching deadline without a kill (since no night), albeit that would be less fun, but apparently that's not so and there is at least risk of penalty for sitting on one's hands.

I would also say, though it will make me sound scummy, that I agree with what I think dedo is saying more than Lift. I don't think there's a need to build "consensus," particularly in the early game. The one thing I do think we do need people to do, however, is to:

1) make an actual case for their shot
2) and at least for D1-D2, not rush out of the gate firing.

shots will be one of the things that gives us info/data, but it won't be effective if someone just mumbles "ARGLE-BARGLE SHOOT XXX!" first thing out of the gate. I would tend to view that as scummy.

Zeog is an unknown quantity, but everyone else playing can reasonably be expected to make an actual case for their actions based on past games, no?

HypersomniacLive: If Krypsyn were playing, he'd say now - Vote!
Pretty sure he'd say something more like "Shoot <player>". And then he'd be saying "Shoot" to anyone with a question.
avatar
HypersomniacLive: If scum want to lurk their way to victory, what is stopping us from shooting the lurkers?
Nothing. Let's shoot the lurkers! Everyone knows I don't like lurkers. I think scum often hides in lurkiness and even if they are town, they don't help winning and generally don't contribute to the game. I'm just against thoughlessly shooting someone without talking about it beforehand.

By all means, do. If you don't have anything to contribute, you might as well be scum. Rambling about flavour doesn't help town so if that's all you are prepared to do, that might actually tell us something about your alignment!

Maybe that statement was just a joke. But maybe it way you hiding behind a joke because you genuinely don't know what to write without revealing your scumminess? Who knows.

We could still use votes to emphasize our opinion on who should be shot. In an attempt to take a middle way, like cristi suggestend, we could also make voting less strict than usual. Everyone could use multiple votes and whenever someone feels that there is a big enough majority on someone, he can pick up the gun and try to shoot the agreed upon scum candidate.
Shoot Zeogold.
You guys are boring me with your inactivity, so either I get something started here by casting the first vote, or I die (maybe) and mosey along out of here.

HypersomniacLive: What's the matter? Don't know how to conceal your scumminess?
OHNO you've got me pegged already! How could I be so careless to be so transparent?!

But, no, just having fun busting kryps balls, I actually am not bored with the setup by any means, and the sarcasm should have been clear. Way to be scummy by trying to make something out of nothing though.

Shoot HSL

Let's get this RR party started! D1 with ZERO information and just more and more time for scum to shape things how they want. Let's not give them a chance. I like lift's idea of voting before shooting (I was thinking similar thoughts), on every day except D1, because there is NO INFORMATION and bound to not be anything useful for town going on and that just lets scum screw us around the more we dilly-dally.

Does anyone think krypsyn lied and not EVERY town player is vanilla?

bring it MOTHERFECKERS!

Personally, I'm imagining us all sitting in chairs in a circle, with the gun in a machine in the middle. Each of us has a button for each (living) player, and we push one of the buttons to submit a shoot request. Sort of like something from the "Saw" franchise, come to think of it, but with less torture and faster results.

Krypsyn: <snip>
Krypsyn, will you (or one of the other mods) be making a post when the Trigger Machine first comes online?
Looks like the parties started.

Heh.

Curious if zeog/drealmer thought they were making actual shots or were just screwing around.
Eh... I'm not sure it should have actually

<_< >_>

I forgot the shooting wasn't technically allowed till 6pm (damn players not following the rules!)

I'll leave it to resolve any further shots until Krypsyn decides whether these shots are acceptable or whether we need to reroll the shot.
