@ZFR: interesting concept, but I don't know how to balance such a role. Let's try it in your next game. I'm up for being the guilty child. Everyone will assume that I'm scum anyhow in the next games. ;-)
As for my game, I think I'll go for a semi-open role madness. I.e. most of the roles will be known, some roles will be excluded, some roles will need to be secret.
The setting will be the world of Fallout.
Also there are some roles I would like to try.
1. Town Shelterer: basically a combined neighborizer/jailer. Each Night he can invite one person into a shelther. That person will stay in the shelter for the rest of the game. Persons inside the shelter will have a night-chat and will be untargetable for night-actions from outside the shelter. They also won't be able to target persons outside the shelter. But they can be targeted by other persons inside the shelter. Yes, scum inside the Shelter can perform the NK on people in the Shelter.
The Shelterer will not be inside the Shelter and he will not be known by the persons sheltered. If the Shelterer dies or is roleblocked the Shelter opens (either permanently or for that Night).
2. Track'er / Watch'er: a combined Tracker/Watcher that only works on female roles (half the roles will be female)
3. Genderbender: switches the gender of a target
4. CSI-Cop (we discussed this before): will take a sample of DNA from each crime scene and can take a sample of one person at Night, to compare to all crime scenes so far.
4a.) maybe he can also take a sample at Day, to circumvent the Shelter effect. But that would reveal him.
5. Medic: will heal sick people.
6. A bodyguard variant
7. An FBI-Agent variant, if the killing neutral role exists
8./9. Two secret roles, one killing Neutral role, one Town.
Scum roles:
Supermutant (Strongman),
Sewer Ghul (can try to sniff out the Shelterer and thereby a way into the Shelter),
Infector: will infect target with sickness, which will permanently roleblock that person starting the next Night, until healed by the Medic.
What do you think? Mad enough?
These would be the roles for a 12 player game. With 10 players the Neutral and the FBI-Agent would be missing. With more players, I would add some other roles. Maybe a regular Doctor.
Lifthrasil: So, what do you all prefer mechanics wise? Closed role madness? Or a (semi)open Setup?
my name is magike catte: I prefer closed setups, especially role madness, but dealer's choice. I seem to remember you floating a MtG theme? Feels like role madness would be appropriate for that.
Ooooh! Right! I wanted to run a MtG game. I could adapt the role madness just suggested to that setting instead of Fallout.
