PLASMA97: Don't worry, I will.
I have played forum mafia on various communities, and this is by far the most toxic and shameful behavior I have personally encountered. Apparently policing harmless jokes and virtue signalling is more important than people's feelings and having fun.
Well, a significant part of the toxicity of the recent discussion came from you and maybe from Cadaver, relayed by you. So it's no wonder that you find it here, when you bring it into play yourself. There was no need to make anything this big out of that disagreement over a joke. There was a disagreement, Joe apologized and that could have been that.
We had our disagreement as well, I told you what about your play-style annoys me. You took note that I see it as abrasive and not fun, but you weren't really willing to change it. Still I didn't leave in a huff. We agreed to disagree on taste where play-style is concerned. Fine with me.
Conflict happens. As do misunderstandings. It's unavoidable in any community that's bigger than one person. The question of maturity is, how do you deal with conflict? Are you able to take an apology? Are you able to respect other people's feelings and avoid the same mistake in the future? This goes both ways and the art of conflict resolution is to find some common ground. But nowadays that's more and more a lost art. It's often 'my way or no way'. Cadaver storming off is one example. You telling me that we (as in the entire GOG-community) have to adapt to your play-style if we want to 'get better', is another example. It's immature.
And if you really think that 'virtue signalling' is a problem here, then have fun on MU. That's where the lynch discussion came from in the first place.
