We've never needed to have these conversations before. We've only had them because they've become necessary. Leave if it pains you this much.

Don't worry, I will.

I have played forum mafia on various communities, and this is by far the most toxic and shameful behavior I have personally encountered. Apparently policing harmless jokes and virtue signalling is more important than people's feelings and having fun.

If you'd just told us that you were worried about your friend you could have steered the conversation to a more positive place.
Instead you continued making provocative comments focused what had been done wrong, which were reacted to defensively.

I felt positive about the conversation we had about it yesterday, I thought I understood your feelings on the issue much better. I'm sad to see we're in a much worse position now.

What would you like to see done for this to be a community you'd be happy being a part of?

Well, a significant part of the toxicity of the recent discussion came from you and maybe from Cadaver, relayed by you. So it's no wonder that you find it here, when you bring it into play yourself. There was no need to make anything this big out of that disagreement over a joke. There was a disagreement, Joe apologized and that could have been that.

We had our disagreement as well, I told you what about your play-style annoys me. You took note that I see it as abrasive and not fun, but you weren't really willing to change it. Still I didn't leave in a huff. We agreed to disagree on taste where play-style is concerned. Fine with me.

Conflict happens. As do misunderstandings. It's unavoidable in any community that's bigger than one person. The question of maturity is, how do you deal with conflict? Are you able to take an apology? Are you able to respect other people's feelings and avoid the same mistake in the future? This goes both ways and the art of conflict resolution is to find some common ground. But nowadays that's more and more a lost art. It's often 'my way or no way'. Cadaver storming off is one example. You telling me that we (as in the entire GOG-community) have to adapt to your play-style if we want to 'get better', is another example. It's immature.

And if you really think that 'virtue signalling' is a problem here, then have fun on MU. That's where the lynch discussion came from in the first place.
Also, I don't think Cadaver owes anyone an apology.

Or to put it another way, I don't think anyone should feel like Cadaver owes them an apology.

It's clear that he never set out to cause harm, everybody who has wanted it has had their voice heard on the subject.
I'm not sure there's anybody been involved who can say that their behaviour has been without fault.

Don't withhold yourself peace because you think someone else owes you reparation.
If you want someone to know that you feel you've done them wrong and want them to feel better, apologise.

Cadaver, I went on about what had made me uncomfortable, without thinking how you would feel about that, and how it would look to others. I am sorry, and I don't want you to suffer over this. At all.

Plasma, I thought your comments were intended to hurt. In that regard I misjudged you and dismissed your honest feelings on the subject. I am sorry, and I don't want you to be angry or upset.
It is very nice that for the upcoming #67 game there are players in excess, plus several subs.

Nice. Do you remember which season was that? It might fit the Return season (which this spectator found magnificient).

It was towards the end of the second season, from one of the log lady intros. (this is Twin Peaks if you're reading this and wondering :) )

It struck me at the time, and I hoped to find an image or a gif of it, but it's a bit too wordy so I had to settle for the quote (with messed up itallics tags)

Thanks. This show indeed was ahead of its time. I re-watched it all, including Fiire walk with me, before the Return, that arrived on schedule, so many years after (kudos to David Lynch for making it happen). Lots of things can be said. The Return kept combining mystery, spiritualness, drama, humor, the fantastic, sheer terror and whatnot in a very efficient package that was at times art, and at times entertainment, leaning towards the first more than the second. Not neglecting the revisit to that world. Plus doing the not easy feat of approaching The Beyond, or a part of it. Plus many other things. Not without some flaw, but what is without flaws. More can be said about the original series and Fire as well.

Now, a Twin Peaks themed game. Wouldn’t that be great?

There has been a Twin Peaks inspired game.

Rather appropriately, it was something unique and intriguing, showed a lot of promise, and then just sort of drifted away before it felt anywhere near complete.
Vitek's first contribution to that game is particularly poignant.

What a mess that one was.
It was probably then when I learnt the game can have other than the usual structure and can make little sense. Also first tiem I was bitter about my role + first time I witnessed game just fall apart.
It certainly was memorable, though. I still remember some outlines of my role and who was the SK (among other things).

If that game hadn't happened, SirP might never have felt the need to tell me about mafia, and I might never have joined the forum!

GhostQlyph should really have thought the possible consequences through, before being so reckless...

If I remember correctly I quickly wrote a fake PM based on my planned falseclaim and screwed with everyone when we were laying our cards on the table. Funtimes.
