This is the exact thing I am talking about. You think it wasn’t that big of a deal yet someone else was very uncomfortable with it. The best practice in this situation is to err on the side of caution and say flat out NO to anything like that. Role playing or not does not matter because it’s the content that is the issue.

OR game mods could tell the people who are interested in signing up what the content will be beforehand, and if some don't want to play(due to content) then they don't play.

Essentially I don't think everyone else playing a game should be limited by what 1 or 2 players like or dislike.

I mean what if someone dislikes strongly mentions of the color blue or any mention of any kind of fruits? Should all such talk in mafia games be forbidden if they play? Again, common sense civility and decency and boundaries are imo fine.....but they should be the bare minimum needed.

(Of course it seems we both already agree on what should & shouldn't be allowed in such games, so there's likely no reason to keep discussing this, so I will leave it at that)

You're talking about ridiculous hypotheticals, while there's an actual occurrence in the last game of actual players being uncomfortable. As an observer, I agree with that discomfort.

I also find it disrespectful toward those players to equate their actual discomfort with the ridiculous hypotheticals you bring up; it gives the impression that you care more about being right than about their feelings, which is not an attitude I would've expected to see in our gang of mafia player who above all care about having fun together.

I was merely using it to illustrate what I don't want to see happen, to make a point.....I am sorry if it came off the wrong way than what I intended.

I wasn't trying to equate such....as said above I was trying to make a point(about the extremes of "watching one's words" that I hope the games don't evolve into)...if it seemed I was trying to equate such as equal then I am sorry for that, as that was not my intent.

As for me: I try to be as civil and such as possible during such games...I just don't worry as much about speech as some(in general, I mean) do.

(I also see taking offense at every "little" thing[as the current generations seem to like to do more and more of] to be mostly a waste of time and minor issue at best[to me, not to them obviously] as well, but that's more of an aside)

I am sorry if I came off earlier like I was trying to discount those with legitimate offense at something...I wasn't, but was actually worried the games might devolve into the "faux indignation" kind of stuff one sees on social media and the like(i.e. people finding anything to get offended by), and didn't want to see that possibly impact the games in some major way.

I see. Then it apparently needs to be talked about.
Still I think this is something that should be given and common sense even outside the game so I am not sure it should also be included in the rules.
If it happens it should be up to the mod to deal with it and it doesn't need specific rules up front.
I have to admit I don't know current situation her, though, so it's not something I should really make any more comments on this.
